Good thoughts. I’ve been generally disappointed with how they’ve handle the magic mirror. It seems a little inconsistent.

do you think the EQ can see people thru her mirrors only when theyre in places that she has control over/has been, AND/OR also in places with mirrors?
like her forest (saw Snow in there with the dwarves, hurt Charming when he was running after escaping to find Snow, burned the witch in her oven in her cottage that was located in the EQ’s forest)..and then the place where Snow ate the apple, that was Regina’s stomping ground… so i’m wondering if it’s twofold–she has to have been there/have it be her place, or there has to be a mirror there for her to see through. i dont know if the forest is hers cause its just in her kingdom or what. maybe she can control people thru mirrors only within her kingdom, since she’s the queen…
(Rumple covered his mirrors at the palace cause she can watch
him through them, and maybe also since the EQ had been there before)

i dunno. just some thoughts.

I LOVED reading rainbow! But not this episode. For some reason my sister and I found the Rumpelstiltskin in this story to be incredibly frightening. We owned the physical copy of the book in the episode, and thought it was so creepy that we shoved the book under her bed. She was so scared of it that she would never sleep on that side of her bed (idk why we didn’t just throw it out… kids are dumb!).

OH yes, sorry, that’s what i meant. the 2nd Coming, not the Rapture. sorry. going on 4 hours of sleep here. not quite with it. yes, i couldnt see how they could keep writing after the 2nd Coming…when that happened in the last book, it was just too much. couldnt keep going.

Ah, okay. The rapture occurred in the first Left Behind book. The Glorious Appearing was about the time after the rapture and tribulation. Yes, I was disappointed with the last few books, too.

Tim LeHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins take the pretribulation, premillennial theological position: rapture, then tribulation, then the millennial reign of Christ, then a last battle, then eternity.

the “last one” as in the ending of the series, before they did prequels. the one where the rapture happens….the Glorious Appearing, i think it was called?

btw, that’s extremely comforting to me to know these writers have 6-ish seasons of material thought out enough that they know where they’re going with it. i like knowing it’s a controlled and thought-out story, rather than something theyre just pulling out of thin air and haphazardly throwing together. that makes me look forward to future seasons all the more!

Great thoughts! The writers have hinted that they have six seasons of story, and that they know when and how they want to end.

The curse and Emma’s breaking it was apparently just their first step in this story. I expect that season two will be a big battle against Rumplestiltskin.

Did you mean the “last” Left Behind book as in the most-recently released one? I read the whole series before the authors added a prequel (or prequels?).

I gotta say, I was SO surprised that the curse got broken in this first season. I mean, I guess I knew it had to happen soon or they were gonna drive us all crazy, but I feel a little like I did when I read the last Left Behind book and the rapture happens almost right at the beginning. I had such a hard time getting past that part cause I just couldn’t fathom how you could continue the story beyond that point. So I never finished the book. While the odds are EXCEPTIONALLY better that I will continue watching OUAT, I am now super curious to find out how this is gonna keep going. The preface of the series was that Emma needed to save them and break the curse. Well, that’s done. So now what?

It was an amazing finale. We got way more answers than I expected. And the cliffhanger leaves enough room for speculation to keep us discussing all summer. All in all, a very satisfying ending to a very solid 1st season.

Two notes in response to the podcast –
1) In the first interaction between Gold and Regina, when Mr. Gold says it takes two interested parties to make changes in negotiations, he does leave a little crack in the door that if there were enough magic (if indeed magic is required for this happening) that he could do it. We have not really been told if magic is required to rewrite the curse or not. And why would she pursue with the line “I’ll give you anything” and he responds “you no longer have anything that I want.” She somehow believes he can do this.

2)In the new abc podcasts on itunes, K&H on one of them ( I’m not sure which one) elude to the fact that the Curse affected more than just the FTL of the Enchanted Forest. I can’t remember which number it was because I listened to them all in one sitting, sorry.

Rumbelle is my OTP for this show, so I might be a bit biased, but I think that Rumple’s desperation to get the teacup and his dedication to it shows how much he regretted letting Belle go. I really hope that when presented with the choice between her and his powers again, that he will choose her, and not make the same mistake twice. I don’t think he was proud of what he did, even with Baelfire at stake. I mean, I hope he can have both of them in the end, but I really doubt that he would let Belle go. I really want them to have their happy ending. I hope that the writers don’t disappoint.

I wasn’t that surprised when Henry could see that August was made of wood. I worked at the Whaley House in California which is said to be Americas second most haunted house (like the Winchester mansion) for about a year and a half. While there, I learned that it was more common for children to actually have experiences with ghosts then adults because they don’t know that they aren’t supposed to see something so they aren’t as likely to block something out. For instance, there was a dog that was reported to haunt the grounds that children would sometimes be seen playing with when there wasn’t really anything there. I think that’s what the writers were trying to hint at with Henry is that because he doesn’t “know” that magic isn’t supposed to exist he sees things that other people won’t let themselves see.

My prediction: This season is all about Emma’s journey to believing, and by the end of the season finale, SHE WILL. Also wonder if that won’t open some sort of portal to allow magic to come into this world…..all sorts of new possibilities if that happens!

I get the 60ish year gap. It’s the centuries gap that baffles me. How many Ogre wars have there been?

Side note: If it’s been centuries and Rumple is still hoping to find Baelfire, that would have to mean time passes differently in the real world vs the Enchanted Forest, because otherwise Baelfire would be long dead.

Was able to watch all of these on itunes this a.m. because of a change in my schedule. (Well, all except #7, it wouldn’t load.) They are incredibly well done. Really enjoyed refreshing a little. Had one aha moment. Really enjoyed the one how the music is done. Made me appreciate the music almost as much as the writing. Thanks for the link:)

I disagree with where you put Hat Trick and here’s why: Grace’s age. When we see her in Storybrooke, she looks about the same age as she was when we last saw her in FTL, which means that not that much time has passed between Jefferson being trapped in Wonderland and Regina casting the curse. Regina’s father could have been taken to Wonderland at any point in time, even after the events in Fruit of the Poisonous tree, which is the last time we see him before Hat Trick. In my opinion, Hat Trick takes place right before either The Price of Gold or The Thing you love Most.

I also think that the Janitor from ep 12 is Maleficent’s crow, because of is looks and the way he is saving and looking at the door. Regina gives a rose to the Nurse, Aurora is renamed of Rose. Moe French have a business called Game of Thorns, in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent
surrounds Stefan’s castle with a forest of thorns.

I think the nurse from the episode 12 is not Cora, but Maleficent. She is blond, with blue eyes, just like Maleficent and she have a weird curly hair in her forehead, that looks like Maleficent horns.

I think Belle is also sleeping beauty, because in the end of ep. 12 Regina says that Belle is being keeped in a tower, and in storybrooke, she is also locked, and she is being “protected” by the Nurse. And as “Skin Deep” goes on Rumpelstiltskin is always working on a spindle.
Also, in disney’s Sleeping Beauty, there is 3 fairies,
Merryweather (the blue one), Flora (the pink) and Fauna (the green). We have met two fairies, one is blue and the other one is pink.

I know this is really late, but I don’t know if you guys noticed this. I recently watched the Pilot over again, and I found a rather large LOST easter egg. Have you seen that the guy that Emma tries to arrest, or whatever she tries to do to him, is Jack from LOST? Here’s the screenshot from the beginning when Emma is in the restaurant.

I dont speak Italian, but in Greece when you say the word “mastro” and then a name(ex.Mastro Geppetto) “mastro” means craftsman. So it could be correct because Geppetto actually is a craftsman..
