I've wondered that too, since the sheriff would be a county official. The police car doesn't say "couny" or "city of Sorybrooke" so it's no help, but it seems to me that it's odd Sheriff Swan is never called out to another town or a farm in the county.

It doesn't seem like Storybrooke is a farming area. Though maybe on the outskirts. Do people farm in Maine?

Could someone check me on this? I zoomed into the 'Ex-Jailbird' article, not expecting to be able to read very much, but noticed that Emma was apparently visiting friends of her foster parents in Worcester, Massachusetts the evening she was arrested. When Emma was seventeen, the date is noted as being June 14th or 16th and the year 1995 or 1996. Can anyone make it out? If that was a little more than ten years ago, the present SB is 2005/2006. Could later seasons have 'flash forwards' to 2012 maybe?

Ex-jailbird Emma Swan birthed babe behind bars

Storybrooke, Maine—The race for the position of local sheriff has just gone into overdrive. The Storybrooke Daily Mirror has recently come into possession of a number of controversial documents that purport to shed an entirely new light onto the character of Storybrooke’s prospective new law enforcement official, Emma Swan.

Records show that when she was merely a girl of seventeen, Emma Swan found herself, ironically, on the wrong side of the law. She was visiting friends of her foster parents in the town of Worcester, Massachusetts, it would prove to be a trip that would earn her a juvenile criminal record.

On the evening of June 16th, 1996, Swan

This is why i think that Henry's birthday is sometime in March or April. And Emma was 16 and turned 17 by the time she had him. Her birthday is probably between October and December. That would make present day 2007 in the beginning and now 2008. They could do a jump at some point if they want.

Since some folks are rewatching episodes, I wanted to see if anyone had more thoughts or theories on the newspaper side stories. There is the bridge story that I'm curious about.
