Yes, Belle will definitely have a much larger role to play in season 2.

And thank God too. I've been waiting all season to see Belle again, and I expect even more of her in season 2. I was glad to hear the producers say that her story would be heavily featured in season 2. There's still so much about her story and her character that we've yet to learn. The possibilities for some substantial character development are endless.

I'm also excited to see where the writers take Belle's character along with her relationship with Mr. Gold. Hopefully, she'll be able to keep a tight leash on Mr. Gold when he starts using magic again.

I can't wait to see where the writers take Belle's character. I love that she'll be getting more screentime. Even before it was announced that she was a series regular, I knew that she would be getting more screentime. Her link to Rumpel alone is enough to get her more screentime.

But what I'm most looking forward to is seeing whether those "Dark Belle" theories will come true. That would be an interesting twist.

Hmm...Dark Belle? I could actually see this happening. However, I could never see her being 100% evil. But the very fact that she's romantically linked to Rumpel could put her on the wrong side of the battle. I read somewhere on another site that Belle's story will mirror that of Belle from the Disney movie. In the end, when the villagers come to kill the Beast (Rumpel) Belle will be the only one still defending him. She'll be the last shield standing between Rumpel and the angry mob. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

And yes, I wouldn't mind seeing a darker, sexier Belle. I love the idea of Belle being OUAT's dark princess. Most of the princesses on this show have followed the basic bullet points of what makes a decent fairytale princess. So, it would be pretty cool to see the writers take the rulebook and just throw it out of the window.

I don't see them making Belle a dark character because if they do she won't be the same character that Rumple fell in love with. What I think will happen is, as you said, her romantic link to Rumple will make it seem like she is on the wrong side of good and evil. Everyone will view her with suspicion and distrust because of her association with Rumple. In Skin Deep, when Regina is telling Rumple about Belle's death, she mentions that because of Belle's association with Rumple, everyone shunned her. How will Rumple react when everyone in Storybrooke (or at least the fairytale people in Storybrooke) shun Belle because of her association with him? Belle is innocent and hasn't done anything wrong and yet people will probably treat her the same way they treat Rumple.

Perhaps Rumple might call in his favour with Emma and ask her to befriend Belle because no one else will. Then when Belle finds out that the only reason Emma became friends with her is because she owed Rumple a favour, Belle is going to feel a little hurt and betrayed by both Emma and Rumple because I doubt Rumple would mention Emma owing him a favour to Belle.

I'm not sure if the writers will ever make Belle evil, but like A Chipped Cup stated, due to her romantic association with Rumpel, she may find herself on the wrong side of this fight. But I do like the idea OUAT mirroring the events of the Disney movie. Belle being the only one there to defend Rumpel. It would also mirror Belle being put in the crazy house in the disney film too. Of course, OUAT's Belle was placed in a mental institutionfor an entirely different reason.

But after listening to the podcast, I wouldn't mind seeing a darker Belle. I like the idea of Belle being OUAT's dark princess.
