Rumplestiltskin's Agenda

Yeah. Like using Snow and Charming's love potion creates the part of the curse that allows the curse to be broken through Emma.

Snow said in Ep 1 that he can see the future. The thing is there are so many things that Rumpel does not know. I think he just has a lot of information because he goes around being invisible and if Rumpel created the curse then he could have created the conditions under which it would be broken like Emma must be the one because of the use of the potion and that 28 years would go by until it is broken. The conditions may have been created by them. There has so far been no reason for that Rumpel needs to actually SEE the future to know what he knows.

Is there some reason you think Rumple CAN'T see the future? Clearly Snow believed it before she went to him and he made his prediction about Emma. I just wonder why you think people would say this about him if it wasn't true.

Just because Rumpel doesn't know stuff. He didn't know where the fairy Godmother was. He had to make a deal with King George to find that out. He didn't know that Belle was still alive and that the queen was lying about her death. He didn't know that Belle had spoken to the queen until she told him. He didn't know who the things belonged to that he had Jiminy connect for him when he was a man. He didn't know that Regina stole the cup from his house. There are just things like that that make me think he just knows a lot and has been around a long time and not that he can see the future.

Also i was watching the episode again and i thought that maybe the love potion was the last step to making the dark curse and that Rumpel will combine all those potions together that he had on those shelves and that will make the Dark Curse.

Planning for the future and KNOWING the future are different.

We save money for college education for babies, we get life insurance / health insurance to plan for the future... knowing we will use them is something else.

I think Rumple may be able to see the future to a certain extent. It may just be bits and pieces, not everything.

Here is a great theory about why Rumple needed the true love potion: http://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic ... 2465#p2465

Also, I think perhaps Rumple knows the future on a limited basis, as King Arthur suggested. Perhaps his foresight is dependent upon the subjective free choices of others (as he's fond of saying "everyone has a choice.")

I am completely confused on Rumple being able to see the future. In the pilot Snow said that he can see the future but I can't really tell whether he can or not. So he seemed to know that Snow and James' child was going to be a girl but so did Snow and she can't see the future. He said that Emma was going to show up on her 28th birthday but the way he said it made me think he was making it up as he was saying it - kind of like he planned it that way - not that he was predicting it. They say he is the most powerful man in the world which would somehow inply the ability to see the future but they didn't come right out and say that in the last episode. He does seem to have the ability to read people really well - so I wonder of that is interpreted by them as being able to predict the future? It's interesting to me that as the show is progressing there seems to be a stronger connection between Rumple and Snow developing. He does seem to be very well intuned to Snow and the decisions she is going to make, and she is the one who said that he can see the future.

Right and if Snow can know that her baby is going to be a girl somehow then i think Rumpel can know it to by some way other then SEEing the future. And there is between planning for the future and knowing the future like Nonnie said. It seems like Rumpel has plans for the future, as all people do, but i am not sure if that means he really SEES the future. And if he is like having visions of the future then that has not been explained in any coherent way like exactly how that would work. And since Rumpel can go invisible he can be lurking anywhere and know a lot of things. He could be lurking somewhere when Snow tells Red that she thinks her baby is a girl or something. And if Rumpel made the curse then he could have set the time limit somehow or even helped Henry along behind the scenes to get Emma back into town.

Where is it said that Rumpel can go invisible?

It isn't said. He just does it all the time. He just pops up places which seems like he can go invisible. And Charming was yelling at him like show yourself like Rumpel was there, but invisible.
