What are your Once Upon A Time triggers?
What are your Once Upon A Time triggers?
So I thought I'd start a thread where people can share things that remind them of OUAT, whether it's something obvious, or whether you're not even sure why it triggered a connection.
Here are some of mine to start things off:
- Red apples
- Red or blue leather jackets
- People on motorbikes, whether they look at all like August or not.
- Fur vests (I was out shopping with an equally obsessed friend, and we immediately knew what the other person was thinking)
- And these lyrics (from Love Is All I Need by Glass Pear) so very much:
"Have I met you somewhere before, baby, long ago?
In a different kind of world, that we used to know.
I thought love was lost, but love was just asleep
I thought you were gone, but you were next to me,
waiting for a kiss to set you free."
What are some from other people?

If I were to actually think about it the boarder in my room is wolves. Kind of live Graham's guide.

( That's all I can think of right now but I'll be sure to edit this post, if I think of more. )

It's gotten to the point in which words such as snow, gold, or apples can't even be mentioned in a normal conversation without me thinking of OUAT.
Geppetto's Creepy Puppet Parents, and Mr. Gold's pink house.

Another one for me is that I'm reading Return to Laughter at the moment, and this passage in particular got my attention:
"I felt cheated. There's no secret about marriage. Nevertheless, I congratulated her and asked when the wedding was to be.
"That's just it," she said impatiently, as though I should have known. "Yabo doesn't know about it, and I won't tell him, for he would never consent. I am running away, tonight. No one else knows. I told you because we are friends, and a friend's heart is angry if such secrets are not shared. Now promise me you won't tell.""
No prizes for guessing which episode this made me think of.

Re: What are your Once Upon A Time triggers?
Also, my sister in law is pregnant and just found out she is having a boy and is deciding on names. They already have a three year old boy named Easton and they need a boy name that goes well with that. I thought of "August" but didn't want to be obvious so I cleverly asked my 10 year old "Didn't your dance teacher name her new baby something that started with an 'A' or something?" and he said "Yes, August." My sister in law doesn't watch OUaT but said "OMG, I actually have 'August' on my list." I thought to myself "Thank Gods" And then I went on and on for like an hour about how I thought August was the PERFECT name for my new nephew and sounds great along with Easton. Now we'll find out August is the spawn of satan or something. I don't care, he has nice eyes and looks good in leather. That seems to be a requirement on the show.
And accents. Especially Scottish accents. Not that I didn't hear them before OUaT, but now as soon as I hear a Scottish, British, or Australian accent I immediately think of OUaT.
Clocks that don't work. I helped my mother in law redecorate her guest bathroom. I found this very interesting wooden picture that is also a clock, it's very unique and cool. Only it doesn't work - she's all concerned about this and is trying to find someone who can fix it; my point is that no one goes into the bathroon to find out what time it is. I'll leave this one for you to figure out, we have a very strained relationship - the clock worked when I found it at the store, she got it home, put it on the wall and then it STOPPED WORKING . . . I moved the hands to 8:15. It is always 8:15 in my mother in law's guest bathroom. They don't watch OUaT.
My 10 year old just told me that at school sometimes someone will forget their homework or will have forgotten to finish a part of their homework and the teacher will say "I'll tell you what, I'll make you a deal . . ." and of we all know who this reminds him of!

I just started watching Stargate Universe on Netflix. At one point during the 3-part pilot, someone said 'Please' and I said to my boyfriend, that guy said 'please' referring to Rumpelstiltskin.

Also, every now and then when my husband is goofing around with our kids he gives that Rumplestiltskin "giggle". I laugh every time I hear him do it and think about the show. He's always done it, I just realized it sounded like Rumpel the other day.

Speaking of Rumple's giggle, my boyfriend has actually gotten pretty good at imitating it.
