I'm anxious to see Mr. Gold reunite with both Belle and Baelfire. That man needs a reason to become good again. He needs living proof of his goodness, and Baelfire and Belle are those people. Hopefully, Mr. Gold will be able to prove himself and become the loving father he once was.

Or maybe he needs to become good again before he reunites with his loved ones, so they will see the change and forgive him. To do something selfless, even self-sacrificing, and aboveboard would be a great first step. If he can find himself again he'll be ready to find Bae and Belle.

I think Mr. Gold and August's tearful faux reunion is probably a red herring in regards to how the real reunion will go down. Like Lissy stated, there will definitely be a lot of harsh words and tears when the real reunion happens.

I can definitely see this happening. However, trying to predict what their reunion will be like is a little difficult without a timeline. How old is Baelfire? I think his age will determine his reaction. The older he is, the longer the pain will simmer. The younger he is, the more raw his feelings of loss and sorrow will be, which might cause him to opt for an early reconciliation. He was a just a little boy, so his longing for his father will eventually take over.

I agree. Baelfire's reaction may be different depending on where in time he was sent. It'll be very interesting to see.

I just read this theory in another thread. What does everyone think of the idea of Baelfire becoming Oz? It actually makes sense. The green vortex, being the son of a wizard, and the tragic irony of it all would make for some wonderful drama. I really like the theory.

That was me! I love the theory too. Baelfire put so much effort and sacirifce into helping his father let go of his powers. It would be so sad to see that he himself had succumb to the power of magic. And plus, I'm anxious to see what the show does with the story of Oz.

That's what makes it so perfect. Baelfire doesn't believe in magic. So, I could easily see him using science to fool his populace into thinking it's magic just like how the original Oz did

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that Oz didn't have any real magical powers. But that makes Baelfire even more suitable for the job. Not only does Baelfire not have any magical powers, but he also doesn't believe in them. So, he'd make a pretty good Oz. I also love how it would introduce the whole magic vs. science aspect to the show.

And like the rest of you, I'm just ready for the writers to live up to all the Oz references they've been throwing out. Show us the goods!
