You can all laugh at me but I am completely clueless as to how Twitter works!!! and I am wanting to join in on the Twitter fun since my fav character has been having q/a sessions.

I have an account and have read the help section but it might as well be in another language. Can someone tell me if I am right here: if I want to send a question to Robert Carlyle do I sign into my Twitter account and then do this

@robertcarlyle_ ask whatever my question is? then hit enter??

I won’t even ask about retweets and all the # stuff at this point. I’ll just be happuy if I can ask the man a simple question!!

    Thanks!

    Heya,
I joined Twitter a few weeks ago and also didn’t quite know how it worked. It’s really simple!

And yes, you do it like that. make sure there is a space after his Twitter-name or else it won’t send it.

You said you wouldn’t ask, but here’s the cliff-notes version. 😉

    # The famous hashtags are put before a word to make it more searchable. For example: “I’m watching #OUaT” (instead of: “I’m watching OUaT”). Twitter keeps track of all the # people use and if a word with # reaches a certain number it can turn to a trend. On sunday obviously #Oscars was trending. 😉 Trending simply is there to see what the topics most Twitter-users are talking about are … At least as far as I understood it.

The retweets or RT: If you like my tweet “I’m watching #OUaT” and you want to post it on your wall you simply klick the retweet button. You cannot comment on that retweet. If you want to comment the tweet or say something to me, simply klick reply. If you want to comment my tweet and make it so people also see the original tweet in your tweet (oh god, I hope that’s understandable …) you write “Great episode, isn’t it?! RT @miarosenstiel ‘I’m watching #OUaT’ “.

Well, that’s really all you need to know. 🙂 Oh yeah, here’s a really good site with Twitter abbreviations, if you ever have trouble with them (some post are practically made of just abbreviations. xD):

    Twitter Abbreviations and Twitter Acronymns

Another great way to use Twitter, especially during the live showing of each episode, is to load our Twitter list of Once Upon a Time cast and crew. Just having that open in your browser will auto-refresh (by telling you how many new tweets there are) and you can see the tweets from the cast and crew.
