We’ve seen characters/fairytales connecting on OUAT, and Rumple, mostly being at the center of almost all of them. I didn’t make this connection before, I read it in a fanfic and about halfway through, 😮 it made a lot of sense. 😮
What if Rumple’s real reason for wanting Ella’s baby in ‘The Price of Gold’ was because he wanted to give it to Belle, so she could have someone to care for and love?
What would be the purpose in wanting the child? I mean, we saw in ‘Skin Deep’ the joke he made to Belle about skinning children, which I think is proof that he wouldn’t hurt children. Ever.
Yes, he was a father once but he lost his son and I can’t imagine him wanting another child to replace the one that he lost, because that’s too painful for a parent.

I am not sure why Rumpel wants the children though i don’t think he wanted Cinderella’s child to give to Belle. I think the deal with Cinderella was more of an afterthought and was not planned out. He just happened to be there to kill the fairy godmother and take her wand and Cinderella wanted to do a deal.

So…Cinderella probably happened post belle. But I’m really curious about why he’s trying to get all these fairy wands…on “The Shepard” episode he’s seen making a deal with the King in order to obtain yet another fairy wand.
As for why he’s wanting babies. I agree that he probably won’t hurt a baby..maybe he was lonely after Belle left.
March 3, 2012 at 8:43 pm #138093hjbauParticipantI actually think in the Shepherd episode Rumpel is making the deal with George to find Cinderella’s fairy godmother.
March 3, 2012 at 10:47 pm #138096miaParticipantYes, I believe so. It would be odd, if he’d go after two fairy godmother’s.
March 4, 2012 at 10:09 am #138100crabtremParticipantI think Rumplestiltskin is at the center of this entire world, and it’s his plot for whatever purpose. He has been behind every piece of powerful magic used, with the exception of the quill used to trap him. I’m not sure who enchanted the tree they used to take Emma to the other world. Now we know that some magic has carried over with the Evil Queen and her hearts. But Rumplestiltskin’s power was placed in check, when he used the Blue Faerie’s quill to sign Cinderella’s contract. I’m wondering what would break that spell, and he seemed to know he was being trapped and let it happen. It may all be a plot by Rumplestiltskin to get to the Blue Faerie.
March 4, 2012 at 3:39 pm #138105hjbauParticipantDid they say that the quill was the Blue Fairies’ quill?
I just don’t believe that Rumpel has any grand plan for his deal. I think that he has a plan, but not a plan based on foreknowledge. I think he is going from one deal to the next making the best decision to work for his plan whether that is to die or to destroy the queen somehow. I don’t think that he killed Cinderella’s fairy godmother just so that he could get the deal with Cinderella. He even warned her off doing the deal with him and she did it anyways. I think Rumpel’s goal in killing the fairy godmother was to take her wand and had nothing to do with Cinderella and he just did the deal with her because the situation presented itself.
Though i think his character is badly written so maybe they are trying to suggest he meant to do a deal with Cinderella and it was just badly written.
March 4, 2012 at 5:05 pm #138106miaParticipantThey say he Blue Fairy enchanted the quill.
I think, like hjbau, that RUmple just wanted that wand. The question raised is, for what? He didn’t need the wands powers to make Cinderella’s dress or anything really. He already had great power at that time. At least we never see him use that wand for any of his other deals.
March 4, 2012 at 7:35 pm #138109hjbauParticipantI see. I would like to rewatch the episodes now that we know a bit more. I didn’t remember that and i think we will get more blue fairy throughout the season.
I do keep wondering which are the evil fairies. There is the possibility that Rumpel may be going after the fairies because he wants their magic or because the fairy godmother was evil and he wanted her magic.
March 4, 2012 at 7:59 pm #138111miaParticipantThat’s actually an interesting thought. I always thought the evil fairies would be some other fairies, that fairy godmothers could not be evil, because they exist to help others. But maybe some of them do turn evil?
Evil fairies … Reminds me of Cornelia Funke’s book Reckless (children/YA book with the Grimm Brothers and their tales as basis. Nice read, though not her best work.). -
