I’ve taken some screencaps, mainly looking for interesting things in the background not immediately seen. Open them separately to view them at full size.
First off, I noticed that Nova/Astrid’s names are connected to astronomy, and the walls of the classroom where Miner’s Day is being organized is adorned with stars and various constellations.
Specifically, I see Gemini, Pisces, Cancer, and two different Leos. I also noticed they didn’t allow us to view the other corner of the wall with the classroom door.
Next, I noticed the name of McKenzie (Harbor?) & Marine/Marina on a building far behind Leroy.
This next one was interesting. While Mary Margaret and Emma are walking down the street, in one of the shop windows you can see the reflection of a street corner sign. The streets read Mary and Grover. I can’t make out if they’re avenues or whatnot, but I wondered if the name Mary Grover means something, because the signs are pretty easy to read.
I also took a screencap of Kathryn’s phone records for anyone who wanted a good look at that.
The last thing I have is a comparison theory of Fairytale Land’s landscape (at least the part that was seen by Dreamy and Nova). Maybe it’s just overthinking, but what I immediately thought of when I saw the wide view with the winding river in the middle was the current opening logo of Disney movies used since 2006.

I laughed at the scene where Leroy and MM were smiling really hard, but had the door slammed shut immediately. The reason I laughed is because Leroy doesn’t smile often. (which makes sense – he’s grumpy after all.)[attachment=0:38hy93q1]ouat_ss_mm_grumpy_smiling.JPG[/attachment:38hy93q1]

I thought this too when I saw the FTL firefly scene! 🙂
I don’t know how to make screen caps but one interesting thing I noticed during Dreamy (which I sent into Once podcast) was during Miner’s Day festival when Sydney was playing a carnival game. As Emma comes up to talk to him, you can see the carnival booth worker on the side wearing a purple cap. I’m pretty sure that is Dopey the Dwarf.
March 8, 2012 at 12:42 pm #138387hjbauParticipantI thought that might have been Dopey the dwarf also, but i just wasn’t sure what he looked like exactly without all his makeup. They showed a bunch of the dwarfs buying candles from Mary and Grumpy after Grumpy knocked out the transformer.
Malchore i thought Mary and Grumpy smiling and then the next one when they are trying to look like a begging face was also funny. Mary is the character that makes me laugh out loud the most though. Well Mary and Rumpel’s giggle.

I thought that looked familiar.

Thanks for that shot. I was hoping for a look at that:)
March 9, 2012 at 2:24 am #138432SnickerdoodleParticipantDo you have a screen shot of the guy eating the carrot?
Did anybody catch the name of Leroy’s sailboat?
March 9, 2012 at 10:47 am #138462SlurpeezParticipantI have a few screenshots from ep. 14, but didn’t catch the name of Leroy’s boat:

March 9, 2012 at 12:18 pm #138464SnickerdoodleParticipantThanks.
I don’t remember hearing him say about the sailboat, but thought maybe it had showed up in a screenshot since I was thinking about it at the time.
I didn’t realize the carrot guy was the same door they were knocking on each time either. I guess I was too busy watching their faces and distracted by the woman talking, and laughing.
Now that I take a good look at him, it is hard to believe he is not a shout out to Alice in Wonderland. It’s a shame they didn’t have him look at a pocket watch and say, “excuse me, I’m late for a meeting.”

I love the guy eating the carrot. He didn’t have any dialogue at all but just his expression during that scene, 😆 😆 made his appearance my favorite moment of the whole episode.
