As with the polar bears in “Lost,” animal totems seem to be important in OUAT. There’s Graham’s wolf, Regina’s crow, Archie’s crickets, Emma’s swan, Ruby’s dashboard unicorn…who else has an animal connection, and what do you think these animals represent for their associated humans?

There’s a very long wikipedia entry about the significance of wolves in different cultures. Many cultures revere them, or vice versa, fear them. If you extend that even either, wolves can represent the human struggle within man = good vs. evil.
They can be good (like Graham’s wolf) or evil, killers.
@ darcyfarrow: Ruby’s dashboard unicorn is actually a wolf – which now makes perfect sense given the fact that Red is a werewolf!
Also, what is with August mentioning lemurs in Nepal?

Who’s august… i didn’t get to see all the episodes yet… i saw red-handed and the ones before up to true north or something i think… i am soooo lost!
