This is not exactly an analysis of the character, but since the thread where this would belong doesn’t exist yet, here it is, Emilie de Ravin tweeted this recently:
@robertcarlyle_ OUAT finale.. Well can't say anything, of course 😉 but I'm really excited!!!
@ginnygoodwin me thinks the OUAT finale will be AWESOME :))) luv ya x
Seems like we might see her in the finale! <3
[adrotate group="5"]March 20, 2012 at 3:23 pm #139290BelleOfTheBallParticipantI read these same tweets, and agree that we may be seeing Belle In the finale! Which leads me to wonder if someone is going to find out about Regina’s little hiding place for her. Not necessarily Gold (though I want it to be him – Belle should not be kept from her beast!) but someone who may casually mention it in the future to Gold, just in passing. Or perhaps they exchange the information for something in return? One of Golds/Rumples famous deals.
What if the favor Emma owes Gold is going to be to get Belle out of the prison she is in. As the sheriff, she has the greatest ability to explore the town with little repercussions (not counting Regina of course). All she may need is some law excuse to search the hospital and bam, Belle is found.
Hmm, there is a lot to think about. Either way, I just hope we do get to see her – I want Belle to become one of the more recurring characters on the show!
March 20, 2012 at 3:48 pm #139293miaParticipantYes, that would be cool. Then we’d actually have something to talk about her. Right now there’s unfortunately not much to go on. Besides her want to prove herself and being quite open and not prejudiced.
March 20, 2012 at 6:24 pm #139310hjbauParticipantI think that it has to be Belle in the real world and not the fairytale world because we know that Rumpel is not aware that Belle is alive as of now so i think that may mean that something happens where someone finds out about Belle. Though we may just hear a conversation between Belle and Regina. There are a lot of possibilities. Though i do not think that we are going to have a happily ever after for Belle and Rumpel. For some reason i don’t see that happening at least not long term.
March 20, 2012 at 11:07 pm #139334darcyfarrowParticipantFormerly, I thought that Belle’s reunion with Gold would have to come at the series finale, because it’s bound to be one of the biggest moments of the show. But now I’m starting to think that it would work if the reunion comes at the season finale. It would give Gold the kick he needs to battle Regina full-force. “A man in love has the strength of thousands,” as someone once said. Besides, I don’t know if we can wait years for Rumbelle’s return! “Let’s get ready to Rumbelle!”

I see Belle and Rumpel having a happy ending, just not right now. It’s too soon, and their reunion is more fit for the series finale as oppesed to the season 1 finale. However, I’m worried about Belle’s current feelings toward Rumpel. I have a feeling Regina has brainwashed Belle into hating Rumpel. 😥
March 21, 2012 at 2:09 am #139352hjbauParticipantI don’t know. I think that Belle will most likely be killed in the fight because that would give Rumpel a reason to go berserk which seems to me what is most likely going to happen at some point. I don’t think Rumpel will be the redeemed character.
March 21, 2012 at 7:35 am #139345miaParticipantAs much as I love Belle, I think the better choice by the producers woould be to kill her off at some point. 😐 I’m all for happy endings, but they can’t go on with the story and don’t make any other great character die. Rumpel and Regina will have to be alive for quite some time (I don’t think hey’ll be killed at all. At least not Regina. Imprisoned maybe, but not killed.), but there is no valid reason to keep Belle alive forever …

LOL
They could have Mr Gold find out that she’s alive without having them reunite just yet. She won’t remember who he is and that angsty goodness would make for some fabulous material for Robert to bring to life on our screens. If he finds out about her in the season 1 finale, season 2 could be about him trying to get the curse broken in a desperate attempt to get Belle to remember their love.
March 21, 2012 at 12:24 pm #139364hjbauParticipantThat is all i am saying mia. I think for the betterment of the story that killing Belle off at some point is the way to go. I am not saying that has to happen in the season finale because they could string it out for awhile, but i think eventually something like that will happen. Not everyone can have a happy ending and i don’t think Rumpel has one coming.
It is like in LOST when they killed Alex and that was sort of a formative moment for the character Ben. I think that if something like that happened with Belle then it would effect Rumpel. Depending on how she died would depend on what he did after, but i think that would be an interesting way to go.
