From the title of this episode, we know that some character will return. But who do you think it will be?
Some people wanted it to be Graham, some want it to be Pinocchio, some want it to be Rumpelstiltskin’s son. Who else could we be seeing? May e even Belle?
[adrotate group="5"]I do not think it is a coincidence that one episode is titled “the Return” and the one directly after is titled “the stranger”. I assume both titles tie together – mainly in the case of August. It wouldn’t surprise me if in “the return” we discover this wasn’t August’s first time in SB and when/why he was there before. I believe the episode will leave us on a cliff hanger which will be picked up in “the Stranger” where we will finally discover who August is.
I do find it interesting that the Pinocchio episode is called “the stranger”. This makes me think a little closer about the theory of august being pinocchio – a theory I was not convinced of until I saw the theme of the episode and the title.
I am not sure about whose return they are talking about. I am going towards Bae, Rumpel’s son, but i think he is too old to be in the real world. Though they could do some magical transportation through time to make that all work out. Usually the titles have meanings about both worlds so whoever returns would return in the real world and the fairytale world. I don’t know though. Maybe not.
I’m leaning towards two theories:
the return of Baelfire
or the return of Belle.I don't remember where I read it but I think one of the creators said Belle might return 'before' the finale.
As much as I want it to be Belle that “returns” I do not think that it will be. Like someone else mentioned earlier the title usually relates to both SB and FTL, in which case where is Belle returning to in FTL? Well I guess she could be returning home and then get captured by the EQ, while in SB she is “returning” to freedom from the insane asylum; but I don’t think they are going this route. I think it will be Pinocchio or perhaps Peter Pan returning from one of his visits. Either way I think it will have something to do with August.
Rumor has it that episode 19 will focus on Rumple and his son, so I'm guessing the one to return will be Bae.

I’m going to come out of left-field & say that from FTL – it’ll be Prince Thomas ( last time we saw him he’d disappeared at the well, after Cinderella had ‘tricked’ Rumple. )
& in SB – August ( Pinocchio ) – & I think it will relate back to when Emma was found by the side of the road.
Either way – the return to me, means something along of the lines of families being reunited.

Maybe Bae ran away to war after his dad turned evil and in this ep we’ll see him returning home and how messed up their relationship had become? (Imagine if that did happen, Bae fought in the war and survived, so Rumple was stuck with this curse he never really needed to acquire in the first place, and now his son hates him. That would kinda suck.)
And/or maybe Kathryn (and/or SBFrederick) pops up again?
