I know that there seems to be a dislike of this episode, but for some reason i really like this episode. Hansel is a bit of an idiot at times, but the Emma growth in this one is so great. We got to hear so much about her. A little bit about Henry’s father. We got to see her real desire to have custody of Henry. We saw her talk a little bit about how hard it was for her growing up in foster care. And we got to see her real desire to know her parents and a little bit about how hurt she is that they abandoned her. And that great scene where Emma told Mary that Henry thinks she is her mother.
This was a great Emma episode. I am hoping that Ep 17 will also be an Emma episode because it is about a new character and those are usually the Emma episodes, so hopefully we will learn a bit more about where Emma is at.
[adrotate group="5"]I agree; I liked this episode too. Even though it didn’t advance the Snow/James storyline, we did find out more about Emma. If every episode advanced the Snow/James storyline, after just a couple seasons there wouldn’t be much left in that for the writers to explore. Hopefully this show will have many, many seasons. 🙂

Cool. Sounds good. I just have liked the Emma parts of those episodes a lot. I really like True North because of the Emma parts.
I really like this episode too it has a couple of my favorite moments when Emma tells Henry about his father even though it was made up. Also my favorite moment of the series when Emma tells Mary Margaret that she’s her mother it was a funny awkward moment. Then after the funny quip about “you do kind of have my chin” and when MM picked up the blanket I was so hoping for some kind of memory flash moment.
I think a lot of people wished Mary would have a memory flash. I think that bits of the story Emma told Henry are probably true. Maybe right up until she says he died in a fire. I actually really love that scene as well. The way she says “and i found out i was pregnant with you” is just so sweet.
I think how they met might be true I think he was married or something what she said to Mary Margaret later about him makes me think he was dishonest in some way. Another part I really liked was when Gretel gives Emma the compass how before when she first says all of you then really all of us…that was a nice little moment.

I wonder if, when MM remembers, she will ask forgiveness for having sent baby Emma away, now that MM knows what kind of a childhood Emma had. Not that Snow had a choice, but MM is such a caring person I think she’ll feel heartsick that she wasn’t there for baby Emma.
Yeah they could have a lot of great scenes of Emma and Snow trying to figure out how their relationship works and Emma’s feelings of abandonment. I hope they explore that next season.

It’s like how’s that gonna work? Since Emma’s best friend is actually her mom lol. I know some of those conversations now would be pretty weird through that perspective.
