In this episode, Jefferson states that Storybrooke is just one of many worlds when Emma refers to it as the ‘real world’. This is further proven when Jefferson & Regina enter his hat & come to the room of many doors. The most prominent of which is The Looking Glass which leads to Wonderland.
Upon re-watching this scene. I’ve only been able to identify one other possible world, & that is Oz, which lies on the left hand side of the Looking Glass, as Oz is identified by emerald green curtains & intricate door handles which appear to be the letters ‘O’ & ‘Z’.
However, I have gleamed some small details about the other doors which appear in the room.
One door appears to have either the Storybrooke Apple Tree or Yggdrasil ( the world tree ) engraved into it’s wooden door. Another door which appears in the reflection of the looking glass directly behind Wonderland’s door appears to be an empty slate gray chimney of some sort which I believe corresponds to Neverland.Another thing I noticed was the intricate golden weaving pattern on the green marble floor of the room of doors. Upon further discussion in the chat, Lady K & Michael (crabtrem) informed me the pattern could correlate to fibonacci numbering ( which Lady K told me, occurs throughout the natural world ). This method also rests it’s basic principles upon the ‘Golden Ratio’; around 1.61803399. Both she & I theorized that perhaps the lines in this pattern on the floor could correlate to how all the different world are connected. Therein, using that logic, the number of lines bundled together could also represent characters & their projected paths in both FTL & SB.
Thoughts, … anything to add.
I know this is a hare-brained theory but honestly, I could see the possibility.( Also thanks to crabtrem & Lady K for collaborating on this theory with me. )
[adrotate group="5"]There have been sci fi series with the idea of ley lines, forces of energy that are intersections between worlds. Stephen Lawhead has a series out with that concept right now. So defintiely possible.
@sjm ;; Alias told me in the chat that apparently the new show ‘Touch’ uses a lot of this fibonacci stuff to explain fate & the future. Although, I won’t presume to put words in her mouth, I’m just recalling what I read in the chat.
I’d kinda thought the lines were symbolic of the brim of the hat spinning around, which is a terribly simplistic idea compared to what you’re suggesting. Now I’ll hafta google this fibonacci business to see what it’s all about.
The door with the trees looks a bit too Oriental to be a doorway to Maine. The door two to the right of the Looking Glass looks like an average door you’d find on a regular American house though.
If one of the doors in that room does in fact lead to Storybrooke, does that mean that magical beings could have come and gone to and from our world whenever, (as long as they had a magical hat)? And if so, who has done so, and when? Hmmmmm, I now have a frillion new questions running through my head.

I have read/ heard by following the writer interviews they are playing with the following ideas/ stories for next year if OUAT gets picked up.

Sleeping Beauty
Oz
I even heard Paul Bunyan but that might have been a joke.We will have to see… I have been following the ratings but I have no reference to know if they are good or bad. The problem with OUAT is that it is hard to get into the stories if you do not start from the beginning. I am hoping over summer break other viewers not the regulars will get on the OUAT bandwagon and will watch the shows to get caught up. I also hope that the DVD sells like hotcakes because that will give them more incentive to continue with the series.

Out of curiosity, do you have screen shots for thee doors on either side of the Looking Glass ( the Oz door & the other door in particular )?@Nonnie: Paul Bunyan was the guy who had the blue ox, right?
In regards to the dvds, they’ve only got the first four episodes out right now, as far as I can tell.
The season boxset isn’t available until later this Fall.
So the hype would probably have to be rekindled thanks to summer re-runs.
Either way – I’m wishing on that star right along with you.@sjm: If you run across the links where you read that – I’d be interested to read those ‘teasers’.
& do you think one of the doors might lead under the sea?
I’m most curious about the door that appears to be bricked over & the brilliant blue one.
Although – if you look closely, the one door next to the brick door that slurpeez screen-capped appears to have two seashell patterns ( now that I look again. )

Well when I saw this part of the episode i thought of The Nightmare Before ChristmasWhen Jack discovers in the back of woods tress with doors on them that lead into different worlds.
I did some research on the movie and this is what I found
The genesis of The Nightmare Before Christmas started with a poem written by Tim Burton when he was a Disney animator in the early 1980s.
So I would not be surprised if this is where they got it from!
