A really good point was brought up to me by Brookenstory- how can the people of SB NOT realize that there is something wrong with SB??
For example, did MM never realize that she was teaching the SAME five-year-olds every year! Or that nobody was aging???

Plus, I’ve been thinking about the storybook, and, well, if (most) everyone has an FTL counterpart, and then each SB character has almost the exact same story as their counterpart in FTL, can’t Henry and Emma and even August prevent all of the bad things that are going to happen!?

They DO have the book, and Henry says he knows most of the residents’ counterparts. He says he knows the whole story from the book, so can’t he or Emma just look ahead in the book to prevent what will happen?
Obviously, this wouldn’t give us much of a storyline, but maybe this will happen in the future, when Emma believes, OR after everyone knows that they’re FT characters, they’ll develop their own identities beyond the books… 😉

Oh, and Brookenstory also told me about the fact that Cinderella was pregnant for 28 years! (Which I just realized is actually the exact amount of time that SB was under the curse, since MM had just given birth when the curse hit, so however old Emma is is also however old the curse is 😀 )

Well, although the writers parallel much of SB activity with the past stories of FTL, they do not coincide probably for Henry or anyone else reading the book, all the book really does is reveal who the characters are and maybe give some clues to possibilities besides identities, like the skeleton keys Regina has. Henry still had to put two and two together, because the skeleton keys were not part of the present SB story as far as he knew, he saw or read about them and decided to try them. He’s looking for clues and answers, but again the SB present is different from the FT past. It only coincides for us, the viewers. 🙂

The creators of the show stated this in an interview (which I will now go and try to find) that the people of story brooke walked around in a haze. There minds were foggy due to the curse, and they basically walked around like robots, clueless, stuck still in time. Now that Emma has arrived and made time move with her magic, people are changing. Examples would be Cinderella having her baby, Ruby’s characteristics altered a lot, Archie is discovering what kind of person he wants to be, kids are growing up….etc

Plus August altered the book, so this may possibly change the characters lives in FTL and in SB. Remember Henry still doesn’t know Mr. Gold is Rumple. We know who Leroy and the shopkeeper are, but Henry hasn’t said anything about them to Emma.

Remember the pilot Episide where Emma and Henry are talking, ” The evil queen sent a bunch of Fairytale characters here.”
Henry : Ya, and now they’re stuck here.”
Emma : “Frozen in time in StoryBrooke Maine, that’s what you’re going with?”

So no, no one would notice that something was wrong because that was part of the curse, time being frozen.

Also Ms. Blanchard does not teach five year olds. Henry is in her class and he is ten. She teaches nine and ten year olds, about grade four.

about the kids, wouldn’t it seem weird that Henry is the only child in Storybrooke who has real birthdays? I mean, think about it, all the kids don’t age – do they even have regular birthdays?

Yeah, I know; It was just the first age that popped into my mind. 😆 Thanks for the clarification! 😉

He was confused about it in the Cinderella ep:

Henry: Do you know who that is?!
Emma: Yeah, of course I do.
Henry: Who? Coz I’m still trying to figure it out.

Don’t think the topic has been addressed again since that scene.
