I’m just posting it here, because it’s somehow based on a comment from Kitsis that could be interpreted as a spoiler. It’s in the article about the TV Guide Fan Favourite Awards.
“This was a passion project for me and Adam [Horowitz],” says executive producer Eddie Kitsis. “We have a finale planned that is going to be so unexpected that the audience will be left wondering what happened.”
What if they end the season with the curse broken, but no one knows how, including the audience??? That would go with the kissing scene in SB where David/Charming shouts Snow! ๐ฏ

April 10, 2012 at 7:51 pm #141747miaParticipantI don’t think I like the idea of Emma actually leaving โฆ I know that spoiler where it says she wants to, but I hope she doesn’t in the end โฆ I kinda like the idea of the curse breaking and no one knowing how and why. xD Would leave lots of story for upcoming seasons.
April 10, 2012 at 8:08 pm #141748hjbauParticipantI don’t like it either. I really hope that is not what happens. But i could also see Emma being so freaked out by learning the truth and with her abandonment issues and her anger at her parents and if she loses the game between her and Regina and doesn’t get custody of Henry that she might just leave town. I think she will come back if she does, but i could see it. I hope i am wrong.
April 11, 2012 at 12:05 pm #141798PheeParticipantI haven’t given a whole lot of thought to how to the finale will play out until now, but your post made me wonder about it, mia.
We know there’s gonna be a scene where Mary, responding to being called Snow, runs to David, who obviously knows he’s Charming at that point. Do we know if that will be the final scene though? It’d be great if it was, because the opening scene of the pilot shows Charming running to Snow and kissing her, so it’d be the perfect bookend to the season to see Snow run to Charming and kiss him.
But do they even realise what they’re doing? That’s an interesting question I hadn’t considered before.
The scene seems to begin with Mary just walking down the street and then out of nowhere David calls out to her. Would she have been walking casually down the street if they’d already remembered their former selves? I imagine that Mary and David would be inseparable once they’d remembered who they were, so maybe they didn’t know, and his calling to her was an involuntary action, as was her response.
So maybe something happens elsewhere that breaks the curse, then we flash to this Mary/David scene?
Emma is the one who has the task of breaking the curse, so it would have to be something to do with her.
From what we’ve been told, it’s true love’s kiss that breaks curses, so chances are, the same thing will have to happen to break this one.
Maybe Emma will kiss August?
WARNING: I’m about to talk as though he’s definitely Pinocchio. LOLI posted in another thread how if he were Pinocchio, and he found Emma when she came through from FTL and has now found her again 28 years later, that would carry on the theme of “I’ll always find you” that her parents shared.
So what if Emma finally gives in and believes. Believes she’s Snow and Charming’s daughter, believes they’re all fairytale characters, believes that August is Pinocchio, and he’s been waiting for the day that she’d realise all of this since he first met her as a baby.
So maybe in that moment, Emma kisses August.
August: You found me.
Emma: Did you ever doubt I would?
(exact mirrored dialogue from Snow and Charming in the pilot)
Curse breaks and we cut from August and Emma to David calling out “Snow!” to Mary as she walks down the street.
They kiss, then look at each other stunned.
THE ENDMaybe. Perhaps. I know all the Pinocchio naysayers won’t believe it, but I think it’s a fun idea. ๐ Also, it’d explain why it had to be Pinocchio alone who was sent to our world with Emma, (as opposed to if she’d come through as an unborn baby with Snow), because Emma needed her true fairytale love to be in our world, otherwise there could be no kiss and the curse could never be broken.

Emma: Did you ever doubt I would?
(exact mirrored dialogue from Snow and Charming in the pilot)I love that idea but they canโt break the curse completely, not in the first season and I don’t see Emma and August sharing true loves kiss so quickly, so think I Emma leaving town and everyone will forgetting right after they just remembered more likely
However if August is Pinocchio they could fit a line similar in there like
Emma: You Found me?
August: I will always find you. (Since it’s been his life’s purpose to protect the princess. ๐ )
Another thing they could do is have Jefferson return return and instead of Emma leaving town she goes with him through his hat. That would blow some minds I bet. ๐ฎ

I want that to happen more than anything! I want Jefferson to pop out of his hat right before Emma’s about to leave and say “I told you so!”
April 11, 2012 at 7:21 pm #141812hjbauParticipantI don’t really like the idea that August would be Emma’s true love. If true love’s kiss does break the curse i think it should be awhile from now. Like full break as in able to return to fairytale land. I think that Emma believing is going to make everyone else regain their memories. And i think that Gold is going to tell Emma to leave town as a favor to him and she is already going to want to because she believes they are her parents.
I do think that Jefferson is going to pop out of the hat in front of Emma. Did i call that?

Why would Gold wnat to have Emma leave town? I always got the impression (and continue while re-watching the episodes. 5th one up tonight.) that he wanted her there. Then again, maybe he needs her gone and come back again?
April 12, 2012 at 12:20 am #141844SnickerdoodleParticipantI like the idea of Jefferson popping out of the hat and absconding Emma as a favor to the Queen for some deal. What would really blow me away though is if August did something we didn’t expect as a favor to Regina. I am not convinced August is completely on the “good” side of things — not completely, but mostly. I have to leave a little room for those conniving writers to trick me ๐
I know every time I became convinced of something on LOST, they changed the game, somehow.
