They haven’t really gone into great detail about Regina’s connection to the apple tree. We know she is super tied to it and deeply cares for it, but why?

In the promos, I don’t think Emma is planning to kill Regina, but is actually going to cut down her tree. (They always mislead you in OUAT Promos and it would be too obvious if Emma was actually going for Regina. It has to be the tree. Plus Emma would become evil if she did kill Regina.) So I am trying to figure out why Regina loves the apple tree so much.

I was wondering if anyone has any theories?

In the Fruit of the Poisonous Tree, Regina said the apple tree was the only thing she had from her childhood. (That, and her horse, which was still alive at that point since she had yet enacted the curse).

It is curious though that no one in Storybrooke eats from her apple tree. Like, I remember a funny scene from episode 2 when Henry asked where Emma got the apple from, she said it came from his mom and he tossed it. 😆

KalliopeKisees could you put a (spoilers!) remark in the title of the thread, please? 🙂 You can do that editing the first post.
There are many people who don’t watch the promo, because they don’t like spoilers and if they see right at the title that this contains spoilers, they aren’t unexpectidly confronted with them. 😉

Oops! Forgot about the spoiler thing. Dang it!

If I put Spoilers in the Subject line, do I still need to black it out?

Mr Gold took a bite from an apple he picked from the tree, right before he tossed it away. It was the first time he used please on Regina.

All magic comes with a price!

Nope, at least as far as compared to other threads. Thank you for changing the title! 🙂

I also had this same theory…. I THINK SOME HOW THE APPLE TREE IS THE SEAT OF REGINA’S POWER…. KILL THE TREE AND YOU DESTROY HER POWER…. CURSE BROKEN.

I also just read a theory that once the curse is broken… everyone remembers they have freedom… return to FTL, venture into the real world, leave SB …. go to the other realms if they know how to get there….

It would blow SEASON TWO wide open.

I really like the separate timelines with fairytale land being in the past and the real world being the present. This last episode was the first time we saw a flashback in the real world and while i would like more of that because i want to know more about Emma’s past, i still like the two separate timelines.

Is it really that simple though? I don’t think so, but I think Emma might be led to believe it’ll be that easy.
