I was looking into Cora’s name and I found that it means maiden but it is also a byname for Persephone. Persephone is also known as the queen of the underworld.
So I take that as Cora is or will be a super big bad at some point.
This is a hint that she is a major evil player. Especially with Regina saying ominous things about the QofHs like “yes, better than most.” when Jeffersons asks if she knew what QoH was capable of and why the QoHs didn’t kill big Henry but just had him in Wonderland.
*shurg*
(also I agree with the theory that the actress that was the QofH’s was just a stand in as she wasn’t seen)

"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

But there are a few other things that point to Cora. The biggest thing to me from that episode is the QoH has a vault that is exactly like the one Regina has. Then there’s Regina’s comment on what QoH is capable of and, of course, the fact the thing Regina was after from QoH was her father Henry. It’ll be interesting to see how the two characters’ storylines play out.

Cora is a miller’s daughter and with that said is Regina that child she had to give up or was there another? If there was another then I’d say The Queen of Hearts and Regina are step sisters. That can explain why the QoH said I am the only queen and she’s just Regina. It sounds like something a woman would say to her sister rather than a mother to daughter. That can also explain the strained relationship Cora and Regina share.
May 9, 2012 at 1:27 am #146037arjay369ParticipantThat can be a possibilty. If Cora is the miller’s daughter then, if the original story is followed, she beat Rumpel and didn’t have to give up the child. Perhaps afterwards she made another deal with Rumpel on her terms, the same child in exchange for power? If that’s the case, maybe that explains Rumpel’s interest in children. He would place them in situations where they would rise to royal positions or make deals with royalty who wanted children. Like with Charming’s father.
Also, a possible similar situation, in the episode about Ella/Ashley, in FTL, Rumpel’s price for Ella is her firstborn. In SB, according to Mr. Gold and his contract, the person who wants the baby is Sean’s father. From what we’ve seen, Rumpel’s deals involving children aren’t for him to keep the child, they’re an exchange item for someone wanting something else. Like Ruth who wanted to help her husband keep the farm and the King and Queen who couldn’t have children. Sean’s father asked if she knew why they hired her. He said it was for the baby. If the contracts/deals are the same in both FTL and SB, then that would mean Thomas’s father wanted a child and it so happened that it would have been Thomas and Ella’s. That’s just a thought going round my head.
But if that is the case, then it would fit with the theory that Rumpel seems to be putting these children in place to attain high positions. Maybe that’s what Rumpel did with Cora’s first child – Rumpel visited Wonderland, made a deal with some royal there who wanted a child and gave them Cora’s.

Sean’s father paid Gold to take the baby so his son did not have to be financially responsible for Alexandra. Sean and his father look like they have money and Ashley seems poor. The fear is that she may be a golddigger. I do agree with everthing else though.

Well, that may have been what it seemed like in SB, but I can’t imagine the recieving party would be different in FTL. I wish there weren’t so many things that haven’t been answered yet, hehe.
May 9, 2012 at 2:54 am #146053kalliopekiseesParticipantI have thought for quite awhile that the QOH is Regina’s sister – the first born taken by Rumple. I wrote a long post about it somewhere. My feelings aligned with charming’s sisterly behaviour observations. Could she be Cora, well perhaps, but Im not convinced. The heart theme follows around Regina and her mother, its everywhere. However its not exclusive to either one. Seems to be a family trait, one a sister could also have inherited.
I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and have really enjoyed what they have showed of it in OUAT.
