Hi everyone!
I’m on this forum since a couple weeks, but today I finally made an account.
So, I’m from The Netherlands and love Once upon a time, that’s because I love fairytales.
If I drive an hour and a half I’m at a themepark where they have a Fairytaleforest with different fairytales of Grimm and Andersen. They have Rumpelstiltskin, Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White and many more! Here’s a link to the website of the Efteling, were you can see the other fairytales: http://www.efteling.co.uk/EN/attractions/Attracties-Sprookjesbos.html
If your going on a vacation to Holland, you have to visit the Efteling.
That’s me, so if you have questions. Please ask. 😉
Heya and officially welcome here then!
I’ve been wanting to go to Efterling for ages now, but never had the chance. Maybe I’ll get some friends to go with me sometime this year.
Two questions:
What’s your favourite fairy tale? Which is your favourite ride in the park? 🙂
Favourtite fairytale.. hmm.. that’s a difficult question. I like Red Riding Hood, Snow White, The Indian Waterlilies, The Little Match Girl and The Dancing Shoes. But actually, I like them all!
And favourite ride.. that will be Droomvlucht (Dream Flight). Although, the story of Joris and the Dragon is beautiful. (The scene where prince James slays reminds me of this story).
Oh and you’re from Germany! I read you’re comment and thought: Wow, from US? But no.. :p
Haha, yes! Wow, from the US it would be a bit far.
The Little Match Girl … I must admit I always hated the story, lol. It’s soooo sad! It’s beautiful in a way, but so sad. 🙁 Maybe I didn’t like it at the time, because it shattered my notion that fairy tales always ended in a good way. I was in fourth or fifth grade and didn’t remember the fairy tales (originals) my parents had read to me as I was little …
If you like the little matchbox girl but think it is too sad have you ever read Terry Pratchett’s Hog Father? Is a much better ending for her.
Hey!
I just signed up today, and I’m super excited:) this is an awesome podcast and I’m happy to be a part of the site now. Nice to meet you guys! [
