Funny! Yeah, that’s what happens when you think too hard about such things. 🙂 There used to be a Disney website called Ever Notice where you could post all sorts of random things you’ve noticed in the films and parks. Beauty and the Beast actually has a lot of story issues….such as if you do the math, the prince was only 11 years old when the spell was cast!

The #7 question is one I’ve actually wondered myself. Why didn’t the royal family invite Maleficent to the celebration? Was it because she was considered evil before or was it after her cursing Aurora that she’s labeled as such? I like how it’s pointed out that everyone in the kingdom but Maleficent was invited. There had to be some real rotten eggs among the populace, was Maleficent the worse?

Lumiere, the horny candlestick, is always after Babette, the feather duster. (I don’t know why the Beast allows that. It’s a fire hazard.)

That is so true! I never thought of that before.

Hercules is by far Disney’s darkest movie.

Maybe it’s been awhile since I’ve seen Hercules, but I remember when I watched The Princess and the Frog with my friends. There were small kids in the theater and there was this one scene with the voodoo guy, telling the audience that he wanted to steal everyone's soul. Dude, that’s not dark?! Are you kidding me? Those same children in the theater with me crying!

I think it was boyfriend who told me if you go back and watch The Beauty and the Beast, specifically the transformation scene at the end, pay attention to the castle. There's some phallic stuff that pops up in there and Ariel crossing her fingers after marrying Prince Eric, supposedly, you're not supposed to do that after getting married. I forget the reasoning at the moment though.
