Now that the exiled FTLers remember who they were in those olden days, it’s got me wondering what they must think of themselves. For some of the characters, it’s probably pretty easy to predict what they’ll think: MM has got to be saying to herself, “I was one cool chick in those days!” But for most of the characters, it’s got to be problematic. David, for instance: how will he feel when he compares himself as he is now to the man he was in FTL? Archie, Marco, Ruby–there’s bound to be some complicated feelings when they think of the things they did when they were Jiminy, Gepetto and Red. And most of all, I’d love for Belle to ask Gold, “What do you think of Rumplestiltskin?”
So, which characters will want to go back to being their FTL selves and which will think their SB selves are an improvement?
[adrotate group="5"]June 9, 2012 at 10:16 pm #148528darcyfarrowParticipantTaking a different tack, suppose one of the SB characters could have a chat with his/her FTL counterparts, or vice versa. How might the conversation go?
June 10, 2012 at 10:21 am #148550LisaFromOHParticipantI hope that Ruby/Red keeps the self-confidence that she recently found in SB. But I hope her wardrobe is more like it was in FTL. 🙂
I hope Gepetto feels remorse for insisting on sending Pinocchio through the tree, especially given the results- he and Pin. were separated for 28 years and Pin. still turned into wood (although we don’t know yet if he still is wood). Not to mention what the results of that meant for Emma. I also hope that he will forgive Archie/Jiminy, especially in light of their friendship of the past 28 years.June 10, 2012 at 1:14 pm #148555hjbauParticipantI think they should do something with that also. Like Geppetto looked pretty bad in that episode and so i think they need to make that mean something and work it out. Like Geppetto should realize he made the wrong decision. Though i think they are going to work at the whole how Emma feels towards Snow and Charming about being abandoned so i think that it should be left at that and not be blamed on Geppetto. Though Geppetto is certainly at fault in that, it was still a choice Snow and Charming made. The only choice that could be made based on what they knew, but still a choice to give Emma up and she has had a hard life because of it.
June 10, 2012 at 2:24 pm #148561darcyfarrowParticipantI’ve been imagining Gold taking Rumple to task: “Yes, people feared you; yes, they admired your knowledge and abilities, but they didn’t respect you. You were a cartoon character to them.”
Rumple: “And you have all the animation of a cardboard box. You’re boring, old boy. People went to great lengths to seek me out, but they hide when they see you coming. You think that’s because they fear you but the fact is, you put them to sleep.”
Gold: “It was your emotionality that drove Belle away. If you had approached the situation reasonably, you could have kept her and your power.”
Rumple: “You’re not so wise as you think, old man, if you believe you can have her and magic too. You will have to choose.”
Gold: “After I find Bae.”
Rumple: “After we find Bae. It will take both of us.”
Gold: “Both of us.”

Did he/they just sound like Gollum? 😆
June 10, 2012 at 2:45 pm #148564JosephineParticipantLol, we’re going to have a community of Schizophrenics roaming around Storybooke. 😉
I just hope we don’t have it coming up again and again about David/Katherine being together and then it coming back about MM and Whale’s one night stand. I don’t want this to turn into a soap opera, well…more than it is.
Keeper of Rumplestiltskin's and Neal's spears and war paint and crystal ball.
June 10, 2012 at 2:52 pm #148565hjbauParticipantI also hope they don’t go too much into the fault of things people did in Storybrooke except for Regina and Rumpel who had their memories. But everyone else is not at fault exactly because they were not themselves.
June 10, 2012 at 5:09 pm #148570elleParticipantKeep in mind, they already had a glimpse of themselves appear in the story, especially ever since Emma came into town. Mary Margaret, bit by bit, became much more stronger–the old Mary Margaret would have been meek after her ordeal with Regina.
Ruby also gained the confidence that she had always wanted, similar to how her Fairytale counterpart had gotten stronger. Gepetto (whom I really don’t blame for what he did as much as others do) kept the wooden whale the his son had made for him. Archie also gained his confidence back, too.
June 10, 2012 at 5:32 pm #148572hjbauParticipantGeppetto went about it the wrong way though. He should have talked to Snow and Charming about why he wanted to send Pinocchio through. He did the wrong thing. He needed to try and convince them. To trust them. I just don’t get his choice.
