I was bored, and I always wanted to start a poll on here. Since there were no new spoilers yesterday because apparently there was a bank holiday in Canada, I had to suffer more because instead of just waiting two days without any news, I had to wait three days. (There better be something new today because don’t they realize I need my Once Upon a Time spoiler fix.) 😥
Anyway, I don’t get the big mystery behind why they won’t tell who Michael Raymond-James is going to be except they want to try to fool everyone. Unfortunately it’s working because it’s only making me get my hopes up that he’s someone really important like Bae and/or Henry’s dad, when in the back of my mind, I’m thinking that’s exactly what they want me to think when he’s really not going to be. However, the longer I go without confirmation on who he is, the more I’m letting myself belief that he must be Bae, who is also Henry’s dad. Of course, contrarily if he isn’t Bae’s, I don’t know if I want to know just yet because I’ll be back to square one again in believing that any dark haired actor that they cast is Bae, so if Michael Raymond-James isn’t Bae, I’d rather they not tell me until the real Bae is cast or until I finally see what happened to Bae on the show.

When the press release said that he’d be playing a “mysterious new character,” there was a part of me that immediately thought of Baelfire. He had the overlooks of someone who could be Baelfire. Brown hair, big brown eyes. But I’ve given up on trying to guess which new actor is going to play Baelfire. When Julian Morris was anounced, I immediately thought he was going to be Baelfire. When the guy who Captain Hook was anounced, I also immediately thought of Baelfire. So, I’m not getting my hopes up. 😆
I’ve read through a lot of comments on different sights, and lot of people actually think that he might be an adult Peter Pan or Beaman. Of course, there are also theories about Baelfire possibly being Peter Pan or the mysterious Beaman as well. So, it’s anyone’s guess.

Have come to the conclusion that there are only 2 characters whose names would give away too much if revealed in a casting spoiler: Baelfire (coz obviously everyone’s waiting for him to be announced) and Peter (coz they’ve made no secret that Hook is coming, so it’s reasonable to assume that Peter Pan will be too). I know we’re waiting for a Jack to be cast as well, but that wouldn’t be something they’d feel the need to keep top secret, I wouldn’t think, despite the fact that Jack could potentially be Bae, but revealing a casting for Jack wouldn’t confirm or deny that theory.
Anyway, despite the fact that Bae is the casting that all the fans are anticipating the most, I reckon the reveal of him as Peter would be even bigger, because Peter Pan didn’t age, so if the OUAT version of him looks like this guy, that could give away something huge about how they’re planning on tweaking that story. Add it to the fact that his casting announcement came at the same time as the casting for Hook, and I’m almost willing to put money on the fact that he’s gonna be a grown up Peter Pan.
Also, the more I look at pics of him, the more I reckon he looks like he could be Henry’s father. Though I confess that I may be viewing his pics with a biased eye, because of my theory that Peter Pan stayed in our world and aged and hooked up with Emma.
August 7, 2012 at 6:22 pm #152913JosephineParticipantI think first and foremost that he is Peter Pan. Like Phee mentioined, it was announced around the same time as Hook and I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I also, think he’s Bae and Henry’s father. Ever since Bae went down the vortex I’ve been thinking he could have went to Neverland. What if the bean wasn’t necessarily meant to take him to a land without magic, but a place they needed to be. In the case of Bae and Rumple, that was a land without magic. But since Rumple didn’t go with Bae down the green vortex, maybe it sent Bae to a place he needed to be…Neverland.
I was also rewatching “The Return” and when August said “a little fairy told me” made me think of Tinkerbell. I know everyone, including me, assumes it’s the Blue Fairy, but what if it wasn’t. I still think Bae and August know each other, so I can’t get the connection out of my mind.
We’re probably all so off base that it’s funny.

August 8, 2012 at 2:54 pm #152921SlurpeezParticipantI’ll wager that Michael will play Jack, since Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis probably want us all to guess he’s Baelfire (unless they’re both one and the same character played by the same actor). This is starting to get a bit old. 🙄 I just want to be surprised at this point (though I’m bound to keep guessing).

I don’t think the show is trying to purposely mislead us. The actors just happen to have brown hair. Every male actor with dark hair will naturally be assumed to be an adult Baelfire. So, this has more to do with the fandom than anything else. 😉

I’m reminded of the whole “who is August?” song and dance from S1. I think the writers did try to mislead a bit since they made it seem like August was Baelfire (same coloring, same episode), but he turned out to be Pinocchio. I was right in guessing who his character was though, since I said that making 1×19 a Rumpel episode about his son and giving him the same coloring was meant to be a red-herring.
This situation just seems familiar to me, which is why I think Eddy and Adam actually want us to think that the “mysterious new character” really could be Baelfire. No one has been cast as Jack yet though, which is making me think that Michael could be Jack. There’s also the popular theory in which Jack = Baelfire, and I’m happy if it turns out to be the case.

With all the speculating I’ve done about this show, I’ve gotten approx one thing right. 😆 Coming up with crackpot theories is a fun way to pass the time though.
August 15, 2012 at 3:00 pm #153048obisgirlParticipantI’m not gonna lie. As soon as I saw how this guy looked and read his ‘mysterious guy’ description, I immediately thought he is Baelfire (and most likely Henry’s dad as well). He looks like a grown-up Baelfire to me.
Please writers don’t fool me again!
August 16, 2012 at 12:29 am #153054antbeeParticipantI’ve done some more spying on his Twitter, and he just posted this today.
MichaelRaymond-James @MRaymondJames
@parrack120 No doubt. I’m headed to NY next week, then back and forth to Vancouver through May. But lets work it out. Miss you brotherInteresting that he basically just revealed that he’s going to be on the show throughout the whole season instead of it being confirmed later on. I still don’t know if he’s Peter, Jack, Bae, Henry’s dad, or some kind of combo of those choices, but it looks like he’ll be on the same level as August was last season right now whomever he is.
There was also this tweet, but it didn’t reveal that much other than he has filmed some scenes.
I’ve yet to fall down during a scene. So, so far so good. Cheers RT @Amylia403 How’s Once Upon A Time life treating you?
