This new promo was just released and looks amazing! Finally a decent look at the new season; the sleeping beauty one was so small. This one shows both fairy tale land and Storybrooke characters.
Opinion: When the queen raises her arms, nothing seems to happen? Can we just not see it, or is she about to learn that her new magic is rather faulty?Let’s share favorite moments: mine has got to be the seriously epic looking battle where ?whale? Get thrown by Regina and stuffs on fire.

First, I have to say it’s about time that there’s finally a promo with new material in it.
Opinion: When the queen raises her arms, nothing seems to happen? Can we just not see it, or is she about to learn that her new magic is rather faulty?
Yes, I think the first time she does it nothing happens, but later on she’s able to throw that one guy around. I guess her magic will still be wonky though just to keep her from becoming too powerful too soon.

However, I must say that I really loved the medallion that Rumple had. Everyone on my Tumblr has been trying to track down what it means. So far the best guess seems to be from here, http://sixbluemarbles.tumblr.com/post/31254094164/the-symbol-on-the-medal-rumpelstiltskin-is-holding.
It’s the Anglo-Saxon “ear” rune. It’s also known as “Rune of the Grave” which Jacob Grimm interpreted as “death personified”. There’s this poem that the person also posted,
” ᛠ [ear] is horrible to every knight, / when the corpse quickly begins to cool / and is laid in the bosom of the dark earth. / Prosperity declines, happiness passes away / and covenants are broken.”
Given this new information, I’m theorizing that the Medallion is probably connected to the dark spirit that is following Mulan, Aurora, and Prince Phillip around. It might also have to do with why Regina is seeing Daniel around town.
I’m jumping up and down in my chair like a kid on a roller coaster! 😀 Finally, some real footage from S2 ❗ I have so many excited emotions, that I’ll have to collect myself before I can start theorizing about what’s to come 🙂
Okay, I’m better…So many things:
-I agree that it looks as if Regina can’t do magic at first but then gains her bearing. I’m thinking that her regaining power is somehow connected to SW and Emma not being in SB from E2 onward.
– The dialogue between Rumpel and Belle has to do with what Regina did to them and Belle pleading with Rumpel not to turn to hate.
-The footage confirms that Mulan, Phillip, and Sleeping Beauty all know each other. Nice find about the Rune of the Grave by the way! Based on the first line of the poem posted above, I think the “knight” it presents a threat towards could be Lancelot. (It could also be connected to the reappearance of Daniel in ep. 5) Also, the promo shows Mr. Gold holding up his dagger to the ruin – so there must be some dark magic going on there! Also, there is speculation that the rune/medallion belonged to Mulan (the crest of the emperor given to her for saving China).
-What is Regina riding away from (or towards) on horseback in FTL? Could it be Daniel?
– The only new footage of Emma is for a flicker of a second in SB, when Prince Charming saves her with his sword. I’m thinking it’s from the season 2 premiere, but I’m dying to find out where Emma goes afterwards (guessing to other realms)."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. Thanks for the link!Of course I see this right before I’m about to walk out the door, so can’t sit and over analyse every shot right now. One thing I will say is that I liked the bit where Belle was all, “Wait up there mister!” I’d have been disappointed if she just accepted that action of his and went along with him no questions asked.

LOVE seeing Aurora, Phillip and Mulan. 😀 Can’t wait to see how they mashup those two stories.
The scene where Regina appears to have the faulty magic, when everyone is ducking, it looks like Mr Whale who is on the far right of the shot, and he’s facing the other people, and he barely flinches, which makes it look like he was standing beside Regina, not against her. But then I’m thinking this shot comes directly after that, perhaps?
So will he be bluffing, making like he’s still willing to work with her, until it’s clear her magic is bust, and then he turns on her?Wonder if the Charmings are looking for anything specific when they’re in Mr Gold’s shop? Seems like something big is about to happen when they’re there, considering the earth shakes and they look out the window and there seems to be lightening and wind. I wonder if that’s right before whatever happens that rips up the road, which leads to whatever happens to Snow and Emma? I wondered if the shot of the street with the junk blowing in the wind is where the big hole ends up, but after digging up the pics of the hole, it doesn’t look like that’s where it is.
That shot of the wolf is an old shot from Red Handed, isn’t it? Interesting that they’d include it. Hmmmm.
PS. I’m totally in love with those gifs showing the morphing of the characters with the smoke. So freaking cool! 😀
it is very exciting to have something new to sink our teeth in! The medallion is very interesting, maybe it is a new weapon.
How is everyone going to react to living so close to the Evil Queen? It seems that FTL was so vast, one could go a lifetime without seeing her. Now stuck in that little town… she has to buy grocery somewhere!
Ho! and that snippet we see of Rumple and Regina, look like it was not long after he became the Dark One, because make up wise, it’s not as heavy as he was near right before the curse in FTL
During the promo, it says “magic is coming to the town of Storybrooke and there’s no telling what will be unleashed” before cutting to Hook fixing his hook on. Could this suggest that Hook’s appearance in Storybrooke is a direct result of magic coming back or could it suggest that now Hook remembers who he is, the side of good had better watch out?

magic is back and Regina either can’t control it or has to relearn it, leading to her wanting Snow gone. When she tries to use magic against Snow, it spirals out of control into a huge tornado that rips through town sucking Snow AND Emma into it and whisking them away to FTL or another realm ala Wizard of Oz….
