I just saw this over at Tumblr, http://storybrookemirror.tumblr.com/post/31929953527/vancity-filming-emmas-beetle.
So Emma’s Beetle is parked next to a Portland police car? I also read that someone last week saw filming of a bunch of police and smoke taking place on the set, but I only saw one person say it, and have no idea if he/she has been truthful in the past. However, since they’re still filming the big Emma episode where we meet the baby daddy and now there’s a police car involved on set, I wonder if we will get a flashback to when Emma was arrested.
However, there’s 14 Portlands in the United States according to Wikipedia, but unfortunately there’s not one in Arizona or Massachusetts (Arkansas, Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas). Although I guess it’s possible that she started her crime spree there and then somehow ended up in Phoenix. Or Portland is one of the places she ran to after whatever happened, but then she almost got caught and ran again.

Emma’s been able to leave town before, so if that hasn’t changed, perhaps now that she’s back in town, she’s gone to Portland for something. Maybe she’s investigating the past of Henry’s father and is chasing down some police records on him, and that led her to the Portland police station?

September 21, 2012 at 8:09 am #154210PheeParticipantTrue, it does look in pretty good condition. Maybe Rumple’s trick with the well brought back the shine that was lost? 😉
Not sure that the bug would fit into a way back Emma flashback though, because she wouldn’t have had it before she was in jail. Suppose it could be a flashback to her pre-SB life, after getting out of jail.
September 21, 2012 at 7:00 pm #154230hjbauParticipantThat bug is from the 70s. She could have had that thing from before she was born. I love Emma’s car.
September 21, 2012 at 11:53 pm #154244PheeParticipantIt’s a vintage vehicle from the right era, no doubt about that. But is a troubled teenager rebelling against the foster system gonna have her own car? Let alone one she’d keep in storage somewhere while she’s in jail so she can use it again after she gets out?
September 22, 2012 at 3:27 am #154258surayyaParticipantOh Cool – Emma’s bug is indeed HERBIE!!!!! Awesome! 😎
Now this has me thinking that maybe all things & people magical/ not of ‘this’ reality/world, kind of find their way together- A bit like magnets I suppose- they are the only ones carrying an other worldliness with-in themselves in our non-magical world, so they are drawn to each other ❓
Just a thought, but it could explain how Bae could have hooked up with Emma in our world (out of all people!), to have Henry. He was married with a troubled past etc but that connection was still there with Emma, it ends messy with him disappearing & Emma having Henry in jail & so on ‘n’ so forth.

Didn’t Regina say she got Henry when he was three weeks old? I have a feeling that if Emma had a baby in jail at age 16 or 17 then she probably didn’t keep him. It’s likely that Henry would have been taken into child custody and become a ward of the state from the time of his birth. I doubt many underage criminals are allowed to keep their babies behind bars. Even if her sentence came to an end just after she gave birth, we know she didn’t keep Henry very long at all (not more than a week or so).

As much as I’d like for the car to have belonged to a young Emma, there is the practical issue that Phee raised. How would a young teenager just out of the foster system and caught up in a bad situation afford a car? Even if someone gave it to her (e.g. Henry’s dad), how would she have kept it while she served her time? She had no income to store it. I could see her getting it maybe at age 19 or 20 after being out of prison and working a few years to save up as she rebuilt her life.
