OMG I have a theory! (Shocker right?) Well not really a theory a certainty of sorts the guy we saw at the beginning is BAELFIRE I mean think about it he’s about the right age he’s in what I’m assuming is New York City ( why did I always have the gut feeling Bae was in NYC?) The matching rotory (no idea if I spelled that right don’t care) phone, and that note in what I’m assuming is August’s hand writing was brought by dove any thoughts

How would you tell Baelfire’s age?! He could’ve appeared at any place at any time.
But the stranger seemed to know too much. Bae wanted to get away from magic. Why would he know about Storybrooke? Plus, I kind of want Bae to still be a kid. There’s a lack of kids here. Only Henry. Others on and off.
I think the stranger is not Bae, but the Tinman from OZ.
Remember, the sequence opened with a horse. One of the OZ books is called “The wishing horse of Oz”.
L. Frank Baum tried to end the series by saying he lost communication with the land of Oz. Then, we he went back to it, he claimed he had re-established communication with the help of wireless telegraph. This would tie in with all the communication equipment in the room.
The shoes hanging by the windows represent the ruby slippers. Add to that the red poster near by (rubies are red) and the poster of a human heart.
Furthermore, L. Frank Baum wrote a number of books under a female pseudonym. That could explain the female (rather than male) bowling trophy. And before he became a writer, he owned a store called “Baum’s Bazaar” – the room certainly looks like a bazaar.
And, if he is Henry’s father, it would explain why he left Emma when she was pregnant – he has no heart.
I want to stick with the stranger is Bae theory. I don’t think K and H will put the audience through that mislead again. I am referring to the August being Bae but really Pinocchio. Regardless of who he is from FTL I really want him to be Henry’s father!! I think it is the perfect time to bring in Henry’s father since Emma isnt there to keep him away.
That is a very interesting theory, ceege. I don’t think I’ve seen any theories about the tinman before.

While it’s true that they did mislead us with an episode implying August might be Bae, they have done nothing so far to imply the new stranger is Bae. They only left clue and let us speculate.
I think the NYC Guy is Bae. I think he’s also Peter Pan. NY City- Little Italy- famous bakery called “Peter Pan Pastries”. Also, Northeastern US has the Peter Pan Bus Line…with stops along the route that include Boston (where Emma was from) and Maine (Storybrooke). Been in business since the 30’s…..some of the vintage microphones look to be from the 30’s. The monacles and the Cleaners and Hatters sign, obviously a AIW nod – could be a clue that Jefferson sent the post card…???
