I know there are other who is Dr Whale? threads but sometimes it is hard to keep track of all the hints and clues we got throughout season one alongside the new stuff we’re getting with season two. So rather than doing a guess who Whale is thread, I’m doing a who is Dr Whale not thread where we can rule out characters of him not being. For example:
I’m ruling out Whale as being Triton because in the season 2 mash up promo, we see him in fairytale land with Jefferson on land. Also the fact, in a sneek peek for episode 2, he seems more interested in whether the nuns can date rather than worried about any missing daughter (Ariel) and the little mermaid story has supposedly been pushed back.
I also don’t think Whale is a greek god because of being in fairytale land with Jefferson and appearing to be fleeing from Rumple.
Would anyone be able to post all of the evidence we’ve had so far regarding Whale’s identity so that it can be easily referred to whilst we all come up with our theories as to who he may or may not be?

October 7, 2012 at 2:49 pm #155826TheGoldenKeyParticipantWell, he certainly isn’t Hades (Satan/Devil) as someone suggested a few days ago. I think that is just way too dark for a show about story book characters nor are they any clues leading to that conclusion. Sorry, but it’s on the top of my “no way Jose” list.

I leaned toward Jack in the Beanstalk or the Pied Piper. … no particular reasons. There is a giant coming (former LOST character) so I am leaning toward Jack and the Beanstalk. (THESE are very old DISNEY cartoons shorts from the 40s-50s) As far as I am concern they are fair game.
I would not rule out any of the Greek gods from mythology. They had Midas and the writers have said they are using ANY and ALL fables / folktales / stories. The writers job is to thrill us, surprise us and keep us coming back for more.

Of course, I don’t know for sure, none of us do, but, it is a well thought out theory and there is no denying that there is a TON of info to support it. Just because someone doesn’t agree with someone else’s theory, doesn’t make it ridiculous…it’s a little thing called ‘respect’ for other ppl’s ideas…..just sayin’
And the show isn’t about fairy tales….K&H (the creators) have stated repeatedly, since the beginning of S1 that the show is about STORIES….hence- the name of the town ‘STORYbrooke’

Great suggestion so I went and posted the Frankenstein Theory, under General Discussion and Theories. Only put the evidence and research that Gypsy and I discovered. I didn’t want to steal from anyone else.
I also posted one about him potentially being Peter Pan last week.
As for other theories, I really haven’t seen much other than general guesses. Would be great if people wanted to share theirs under the same board index of General Discussions & Theories, so we could easily find them and compare.
