I love his character and I want to know what happens between him and Nova now..
[adrotate group="5"]March 3, 2013 at 11:24 pm #176561stefParticipantWhat I find so interesting about Leroy is that “dwarves aren’t supposed to be able to love,” yet over and over the dwarves act in loving ways.
And yes, I want Nova and Grumpy to get a happy ending, too.
March 4, 2013 at 12:03 am #176614KebParticipantWell, I think by that rule they meant that dwarves are asexual beings. Being asexual does not mean you don’t love in other ways–and obviously, the dwarves do have brotherly love for one another, and great love for Snow White, too.
Grumpy got sprinkled by fairy dust, which made him different, and gave him a special connection to Nova (who accidentally did the sprinkling). His situation is entirely unique.
However, we have another layer! All the dwarves have Storybrooke identities now–and presumably these were normal human identities. It is possible then that they -could- love now. (But, sorry, Whale, fairies don’t date any more than nuns do.)

Seeing the dwarfs, and fairies (what about giants?) as asexual beings could offer an interesting perspective which rarely ever is explored in any stories about romantic love especially. Admittely wouldn’t have thought of it myself if not by coincidence just read a discussion on another side, a discussion struggling with defining what loves means, what attraction, what romantic love is. Question there was raised, how much a relationship which one would call love, romantic love, does have a physical side, or has to have to be called a romantic relationship (love, true love between non relatives – knowing that this forum is not rated I am cautious with terms here at the moment, so sorry if it sounds more complicate). Know it’s hard to imagine for most that for some people it’s not much about kissing, what doesn’t make their relationships platonic though (besides that this term is widely misunderstood anyway).
Ah, well one can hope, but guess that would be a tad too profound for a family show for Sunday prime time.
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯
March 9, 2013 at 7:05 pm #178520jessieparadoxes of peopleParticipantWell,I don’t think that would be too profound at all.I mean, this show is about a lot of difficult concepts, for example Snow’s current situation in wanting to kill Cora. Now I think there are different kinds of love, and I like how myril put the different types:attraction, true love, and romantic love.Attraction is the start of true love and romantic love.It is the chemistry created when two individuals interact.True love I think is for everyone. You can have true love for your brother and true love for your spouse;true love for your parents, children and friends. Here’s a beautifully true description of love:
13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant
5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.–1Cor.13:1-8Now romantic love….I think can be separated into two parts–true romantic love and infatuation. In my opinion, romantic love is true love but does involve a physical side and is mainly confined to spousal relationships.I don’t think any upright woman would indulge attraction to her cousin. On the flip side infatuation is nothing more than physical attraction,in which case is not love, but more appropriately deemed lust.
I agree with what Keb said about how the dwarves may be asexual(although where do the eggs come from???),but it doesn’t mean they can’t love in other ways.
Although,that’s exactly what you guys said!!!!Why am I going on about this??You guys said it wonderfully!!!! I’m loopy 😕 😳 😛 😀

No, you’re not loopy. And I like when you, all of you, eventually even when agreeing try to put it in your own words, because so often it adds nuances I haven’t thought of, no one has thought of before, nuances and new connections. I see forums as a shared thinking process. Oh, and okay, sometimes is just for fun 😉
And thanks.
Now about differentiating between attraction, true love, romantic love and infatuation/lust. I think there is actually a form of romantic love possible without much of a physical side at all. There are people who see themselves as being in a romantic relationship, who love their partner, who want to live with them, share their lives with them but to whom the physical side of romance has little to no importance. Guess for most of us that is hard to imagine, but I’ve known such a couple.
One way or the other, it would be great if in a not too far away future they would come back to the story of Dreamy, now Grumpy and Nova.

March 22, 2013 at 11:38 pm #181731riniParticipantFor the record, I would like to say that Lee Arenberg is a wonderfully charming twitter flirt! Follow him if you don’t, his tweets are always amusing.
I’m really hoping he is made a series regular, and I hope Leroy’s relationship with Nova is explored more in S3.
March 23, 2013 at 3:07 am #181739Rumple LoveParticipantI am having a mini OUAT marathon and just finished watching Dreamy. I truly love that episode. Although it is not my most favorite, it is definitely in my top five. Dreamy and Nova made such a cute couple and her poor little heart just shattered into a million pieces when BF interfered. BAD BF!! I am on board with something being untrustworthy about the BF. Nova is sweet, innocent, fun, flighty and BF is harsh and the exact opposite of Nova. Maybe this is why I do not like the BF. Something is definitely up with her and I want her backstory. In the meantime, I also want Leroy and Astrid to have their happy ending too. 😀
March 23, 2013 at 11:38 am #181755PriceofMagicParticipantI wonder if Nova and Grumpy can be together now because technically they are both human and not a fairy and a dwarf.
All magic comes with a price!
