Do you think that the monster Dr. Whale/Frankenstein created is someone we already know? Or do you think that his brother is just some ransom person we don’t know? We did not see his face! Is there a reason for this?

Oh my gosh, that was killing me! I kept saying to the tv, “Come on, show us his face, show us his face!” But it never happened. 🙁 Anyway, that leads me to believe that we will eventually see him again, they just haven’t cast the character yet. After all, Dr. Whale still wants to try again, which means his body is still out there somewhere.

My guess, seeing as his brother will have someone else’s heart, I’d say his brother might somehow tie in with the story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Normally I wouldn’t pose this hypothesis but seeing as we’ve introduced the idea of science being a greater power than magic, I’m guessing sci-fi stories are open as possibilities now. Along with fables, fairy-tales, legends & mythology.

I am tempted to go with that perhaps Victor/Dr. Whale’s brother is a new character. Similar with Henry, Emma, Milha, and Baelfire. 🙂

me too! I kept seriously hoping they would show his face, even when I knew they wouldn’t. I am hoping that there will be a bit more scenes with Victor/Dr. Whale–I enjoyed how the actor was able to put a major difference between Dr. Whale and Victor, and his story was a bit interesting.

Also, now thinking about it, didn’t his world look and sound like something from a Tim Burton film. 🙂

Now that would be Epic. Why do i have a feeling this is going to turn into this season’s version of “who is henry’s father” “What happened to Bae” and “Who the flip is whale.” That’s probally going to bug us for a while. lol.

During that last bit i kept thinking they would pull back the sheet and it be MRJ, destroying all my hopes that he is Bae/Henry’s dad…

Ya know, it did. While I was watching it I was freaking out because it was basically black and white, with a little bit of blue thrown in there.

And am I the only one who laughed when I first heard Victor’s Fairy Tale Land accent?

    “I feel a proposition . . . theory coming on!”

I think the story of Victor & his brother will probably be the lead in for season 3 because I’d wager by the end of this season, they’ll have or rather, need the ability to travel to other worlds. Theirs will just so happen to be ideal.

Glad they didn’t shatter you hopes dearie.

In the book, Victor has two brothers. william is more emphasized than ernest. william is killed by the monster (but he’s 5 years old) They could change the tale and make william older, and change his death cause (maybe victor accidentally killed him with his experiments and wants to bring him back?).
Other than that, there’s Henry Clerval, Victor’s best friend. I could see the writers changing it to ‘brother’.
Those are my two based-off-the-book theories. I am curious.

Yeah, I read that book earlier this year. William and Henry Clerval were both killed by the monster, and Ernest was the only one that survived in the novel. Maybe they’re going to take all three of those characters and combine them? Or they could create an entirely new character. Honestly, they could go anywhere with this. I only have one real based-on-the-book theory/question. Are we going to see Dr. Frankenstein’s wife? In the book, they had grown up together and he married her after he created the monster. Then the monster murdered her that very night. I’m kind of hoping that in Once he will have a wife and we’ll get to see her, but whether or not she’s still alive is completely up in the air.

hmmm. I’d do an inner happy jig if we see victor fall in love, and her name happens to be elizabeth. *Correct* myth and book nods always make me happy.
