So obviously from this episode Rumple is using Jefferson to collect things from different worlds, as well as Dr. Frankenstein… Dr. F said he had heard of a world with enchanted hearts strong enough to accomplish his “science project”. Jefferson brought Rumple a crystal orb, mentioned slippers. We know he took the Cinderella’s fairy godmother’s magic wand, anything else, so far?
So my question is are these ingredients he is collecting for the curse, for example perhaps the slippers from Oz would be the key that brought the curse to our world, a land without magic. Or is he collecting different pieces to try to use himself. He could not put on the slippers and say there’s no place like home, since he is already home, so I am guessing he wants them as an ingredient for the curse.
Someone mentioned the crystal orb possibly being the one on Malificent’s staff, so you have to wonder, if so, what did he trade it for?

Rumple also might be mislead there, as Glinda the Good tells Dorothy that she didn’t need the slippers at all… So perhaps Rumple heard rumour of it, and assumes it’ll work to get him where he needs to be, or at least to be part of the curse ingridients.
I really want to believe that Rumple is trying all options to get to our world before he resorts to using the Dark Curse. He’s training Regina to make her a monster in case everything else fails, but he wants to try all options first. The Curse is a good option, but it does mean waiting for Regina to come to full power, waiting for Snow and Charming to fall in love, making sure Charming and Snow get pregnant, and then waiting an additional 28 years until Emma shows up to break the curse. These things Jefferson is getting for him could speed up the process, help him get to our land, get Bae, and get back without having to do all this pesky waiting.

I REALLY love the idea of the slippers being the ruby slippers from Oz. It is a great theory that Rumple may have thought they could possibly help with getting him to the land without magic. (And I would have REALLY loved seeing Rumple trying on those ruby slippers and clicking his heels…lol)

I don’t think bright red heels are his style 😆
I just had a funny image in my head of Rumpel trying on said ruby slippers and trying to click his heels together, wishing them to take him wherever Baelfire is. 😆 😆
I also think he is trying to find objects to transport him to our world. When Rumple is talking to the Blue Fairy, I think this is after Rumple has had Jefferson search high and low for magical objects.
Rumpel talking to the Blue Fairy is right after he loses Baelfire. His clothes, appearance and voice all place him at that point in the timeline. Regina and Jefferson came 200-250~ years AFTER he lost Bae.
