Ugh, the box ws killing me! Of course this only makes me think more than ever that he’s Bae. But still, what could August possibly have that would convince him so quickly?

Maybe a picture of his dad’s dagger and that is why Neal was convinced of magic.
A living breathing fairy aka tinkerbell, would make anyone believe pretty quickly. August has Tink. He is a lost boy.
I think it may have been a picture of the dagger, but it could be a fairy or a shadow. Whatever it was, it convinced me that Neal is Bae. Emma took her son being poisoned to make her believe. Neal just looked into a box to make him believe. He looked more resigned than shocked at whatever he saw. Emma was freaked out. So that makes me really think he is Bae.

I saw a lot of hurt in his eyes. It was almost as if whatever he saw brought back really bad memories. That’s why I’m also inclined to believe it is the picture of the dagger, He must have assumed the curse August was talking about had been cast by his father, and so it was his duty to set things straight.

You bring up a good point. Whatever was in the box…August didn’t try to use it to convince Emma about magic in Season 1. I wonder why? Either because it wouldn’t have triggered the same response in her (i.e. the picture of the dagger). Or maybe he lost said magical item and couldn’t show it to her (i.e. Tinkerbell/the shadow flew away)? 😕
I got like serious Se7en flashbacks from this episode all I keep thinking is “What’s in the #$%&@! box!!!!”
