I’m thinking maybe a picture of Rumple’s dagger or perhaps a figurine of Tinkerbell?

If Neal is Bae, than it has to be something related to FTL. Rumple still had his dagger in season 1 so August couldn’t have shown it to Neal then. Maybe it was some illustrations of his story that were left out of the book?

August definitely makes a habit of keeping secrets hidden in wooden boxes. 😆 I doubt it would be just his typewriter from Season 1. Whatever it is, it changed Neal’s mind really quickly.

Given the connections between “Neal Cassady” and Peter Pan, maybe a picture or item from Neverland? If he’s Bae (because “Neal Cassady” is obviously a fake name), maybe a picture of Rumple’s dagger. So I agree TheGoldenKey.

If Neal is just a normal bloke from our world, it must have been a magical creature or moving image or something. I dunno. I really have no clue. 😕

Pretty sure Neal isn’t a normal guy from our world – the way he handle the question ‘ do you believe in magic?’ has me still thinking this is Baelfire. First thought was the Storybook but really like the idea that it’s the drawing of the dagger – used to manipulate both him and his papa.

I think he is a man of our world -at least I hope so, I have higher expectations regarding Baelfire XDD- so I don’t think that just a book or a picture could help Neal to became a believer. Maybe a magical item, in any sense -Tinkerbell would be a really good one ^^-
But, if August had some magical item, why not show it to Emma in season 1 to make her believe?
    Now, I’m confused 😆

A living breathing tinketbell was in the box.

August has always bothered me. Never liked him. Really dislike him now even more.

Neal is not Bae. Bae still may be Pan, but pretty sure not Henrys dad.

I first thought it was a picture of the dagger but there is one nagging question that now bothers me. How would August know that Neal was Bae?

We know he later knew about Bae, possibly from encountering Bae out in the real world or getting his info from Blue. But how would he know back then that Neal was Bae?

Unless he recognized Peter Pan as Neal and had something regarding Neverland in the box. I dunno. We need more info.

It could’ve also been the picture of Bae that Rumple had in “The Crocodile.” But I’m leaning towards the drawing of the dagger.

(BTW, I moved this into the appropriate episode forum.)

Ok I was leaning away from Neal being from any one of the enchanted lands but whatever is in the box hand to be pretty dang convincing for Neal to believe the story Pinocchio told him. The only way something would convince him is if he knows what it is, either the dagger or something from Neverland I caught that hint lol.

All I’m left with is this kind of feeling….

August and Neal both appeared to not recognize each other. Therefore how would August know that whatever he had in the wooden box would convince Neal? To him, Neal was just a petty criminal from the Real World. So whatever he showed Neal in the box had to be recognized as universally magical in nature. That’s just my opinion and this show has a tendency to screw with your head. That being said, even though it may have been a universally recognized magical item, Neal could still have a connection to whatever it was and August just didn’t know it.
