Chernobog could be the creator of the dagger but what land did the dagger come from. I think the Blue Fairy told Baelfire in the “The Return” episode that his dad’s magic was not from the Enchanted Forest world, so where did the dagger really come from and how did it get to the Enchanted Forest.

Who is Chernobog? Good question about the dagger. Did anyone pick up any clues in Desperate Souls?

The only oddities that I noticed about the dagger in Desperate Souls was that Zoso’s name was very odd. I know it’s supposed to be a nod to some 70s era rock band, but it just seemed like it could have been a much bigger clue. The Blue Fairy told Baelfire that the Dark One’s magic doesn’t belong in the Enchanted Forest. A lot of people took that as a clue that the original Dark One wasn’t from the Enchanted Forest. And I may be stretching here (and I probably am 😆 ), but all the “z” and “o” in Zoso’s name made me think of “Oz.” Like…the Wizard of Oz. Maybe the Witch of the North bannished him from Oz and sent him to the Enchanted Forest or something. Once again, I’m stretching. 😆

Having said that, I do hope Chernebog factors into the show some how. He always reminded me of the Dark One, and I’m glad that someone else has noticed the similarities.

Didn’t the Blue Fairy just say that the Dark One’s magic was bad while hers was good? Paraphrased.
