I have been thinking about this and I don’t see how in present day in our world Baelfire can still be alive. We know he left Rumple shortly after he became the dark one (since in The Stranger he hadn’t age much from Desperate Souls) and we know Rumple was roaming through FTL for centuries looking for a way to enter our world and affecting everyone else in the meantime. So, unless Baelfire went to some other world (Neverland?) in between, he has been dead for years.
It was said by Jane Espenson in a tweet that he had been alive for centuries, and even if he wasn’t, still we can tell that he had been without Baelfire for a while when he gave Jiminy the potion that transformed Gepetto’s parents, and Gepetto cannot be younger that 60. Adding this with Bae’s 14 years or so, then if he is not dead, he is an old man.
Thoughts on this? I think it has been very loudly hinted that we will see Baelfire at some point, I’m just wondering how they are going to explain it when he is a young man of 30 something (and we know he will be).
Note aside: I searched for the term “Baelfire” in the forum to check if a topic like this had been posted before and it told me it was too common, only in a forum like this is “Baelfire” a common word 😆

It doesn’t in most other works of fiction in which characters trravel between universes. Also, in The Return, when Rumpel was talking to August (who was pretending to be Bae), he said that Bae had “crossed the barriers of time and space”. So, I would imagine that Rumpel would have made the curse take them to whatever time period Bae had landed in; then, the 28 years would have passed, so Bae would be about mid-30s. And, when he was talking to Archie earlier in the same episode, he mentioned that he didn’t know how old Bae was. So hopefully Baelfire is still very much alive in this world, otherwise that story would get very little closure.

Oh, I hadn’t though about that! He did say time. But how could he know what time period Bae went to? All he knew was that he went to a land without magic. But still, what you said makes sense, that could very well be an explanation.

I have no idea how he knew when Bae went to, but maybe he didn’t have to know. Maybe he made the curse to track Bae’s whereabouts – or rather, whenabouts – and he told the curse to take them there. That’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s the only plot hole cover I can think of right now :/ …

Yep, we dunno when on our real world timeline he arrived, so he could be pretty much any age…or he could have even grown old and died long ago.
In my take on the Peter Pan theory, he’d been visiting our world from Neverland for however long, but spending most of his time in Neverland, preventing him from ageing. Then he was in our world when the curse hit, which prevented him from going back to Neverland. That would mean that he got stuck in our world and began ageing at the same time that all the other characters came to our world.
Even without taking the Peter Pan theory into consideration though, he still could have arrived at the same time everyone else did if Rumple designed the curse to make it so.

So, considering he would have been around 50 when he became the Dark One, that means Bae would have disappeared around 250 years. Seeing as he was 14 at that time, it would make him about 264 years old FTL time.
However, magic can transcend all time & space. So he could have ended up in our world at any time.
Like Phee, I’m also on the Peter Pan Theory bandwagon. Would explain him not aging. I do believe is that he will be a man in his mid to late 30’s. This is based on Mr. Gold thinking that AWB was his son. So if Gold is expecting an adult male to be Bae then it would make sense that the curse would have flushed out a 14 year old boy, Peter Pan.

We don’t know for sure if he was stuck in our world because of the Dark Curse. Once the curse hit, he, being Peter Pan, possibly could still travel between Neverland and our world, especially if Neverland survived.
The ‘safe haven’ that the other FTL residents are in now, was referred to as an island…wasn’t Neverland an island?
If that’s the case, and Neverland survived, and PP was able to continue to travel between our world and NL even after the DC, this could explain the year 1977 on the wanted poster.
The fact that there is a wanted poster with Neals stats on it, tells me he was arrested before,
Neal (Bae/PP) continues to travel between worlds, gets caught, stealing (?) in our world in 1991.
He’s still ’14’ because he’s been in NL not aging all this time, so they go by that year 1977 as his DOB.
He does his stretch in juvie, and starts to age…that could be what prevented him from going back to NL and being stuck in our world.Could also explain all the objects in his apt from several different eras – mics/radios from 30’s/40’s…cameras from 50’s/60’s…turn table/records from 70’s.
If he’s been traveling between worlds for decades, he coulda had the apt for decades and all that stuff is just his stuff -
