I keep wondering, although it seems to have been forgotten since season one: where did Henry’s book come from? I mean we know Mary Margaret had it to start with but who actually wrote it? If it was a result of the curse, how come it ended up in Snow’s hands? Was it part of Rumple’s plan? Regina seemed surprised to see it. Is this the only book like that?
Also, why did Pinocchio have to add the story to it later? Why was it missing? And, let’s be honest, he DID copy the book as well, why? Did he need it for something else?Which brings me to the library that Regina as a Mayor closed long time ago. If Regina didn’t want a library in Storybrooke, it wouldn’t have been there in the first place so it must have been later on that she realized the library was no good. From the glimpses of it, the library looked like a well thought of establishment that once worked so why the sudden change? Maybe she realized there were more books like Henry’s book, telling the stories of FTL and its characters? And now Bella came back to be in charge of it, I really hope she will find out more about those things!

Its been talked about before in here. But nice you bring it up again. Alltough we don’t have a lot to build a solid theory on yet. Or maybe we do and just dont see the signs. What signs do we have to go on, on this subject ????
*Snow found the book. but where ?
*Some of the characters fairytale stories are in the book. but not Rumples, anyone else ?
*When Henry reads from the book its not the same text as what we sometimes see, out here from our ‘screen point of view’ we can read text from the fairytales “the Golden Bird” or “Snow White and Rose Red” Why is that ?

*What role does the very suspecious library play here ? and is it connected with Henrys book ? Interesting you bring up Belle here, as a connection with the library. I didn’t think about that before. But it would be obvious, that she will have something to do with figuring out something regarding the library.A do have a very small little theory, with not much foundation 😀
I think the fairies, especially Blue Fairy, wrote the book. In order to make the stories come true, kind of like a curse. Because it’s the book of fairytales, meaning the tales of the fairies. I think she did it to come to our world, because she was running out of magical power resources in fairytale land.
Then later when they all had arrived in Storybrook, some of the citizens would have read there own stories in the library and started to remember something. Regina would have gotten scared and therefor closed the library. It’s where all the secrets are hidden, just think of the dragon. Its the same as what certain countries do today, liminating the citizents sources of information, because they are scared they will figure them out, or start thinking differently than the gouvernments wants and needs, because then they will become a threat to them.
Because of what you wrote, EvilQueen, I now think Belle is going to be the protagonist, possibly together with Emma, on figuring out some secrets about the library and Henrys fairytale book. It allmost wouldn’t be fair to her character, if they left her out of this on 😀Oh, I was wondering about the fairies too! 🙂
I am convinced that it’s not a coincidence that Bella is now reopening the library – or at least working on it. I hope sooner or later she will find more books like that and that might shed some lights on some people/circumstances/magic and all that jazz. And my first thought too was that it could’ve been the fairies writing it all up, in the end, they are powerful with magic and (hopefully) on the good site but then again – the Blue Fairy would surely know about it and she would go to the library first thing after the curse was broken – but that is assuming that there is more books like that.
But like we both said – there MUST be a reason why the town did have a library in the first place and then Regina closed it and it would be silly to omit this detail! Go Bella! 🙄The library was the place where Maleficent was being kept, right? So that might explain why there is a library, other than the fact that a town without a library would be odd. And I imagine she closed it because stories, as Mary Margaret said, give us hope, and a way to deal with the world, and Regina wanted all the characters not to have that.
I have no idea who wrote the book, and I think we don’t know because they haven’t told us yet on purpose.
But I do like this idea that Belle will be somewhat involved in discovering something about the book and the nature of the library, it does make a lot of sense. It would be nice also from the character standpoint, giving her some purpose outside from her relationship with Rumple.
My thought on this topic is that August wrote that book or collected the stories and put them into a book in purpose. Because in the episode “Tallahasse” August clearly knows about Emma and her journey. After bringing baby Henry to Storybrooke, August assembled the book, leave it there so Henry found it (or Mary Margaret gave it to him) and he decided to find his birthmother and there you go… I think August set that up all the way to connect Emma to Henry and to the curse. If not why August took the book in season 1 to rebuild it instead? I’m pretty sure this is his book.
I think it has to be the Blue Fairy. It needs to be someone who knew all the stories. We saw in “The Crocodile” that Rumple didn’t know Red was a Child of the Moon so I think that leaves him out. I think the Blue Fairy wrote it either right before the curse hit or while in SB (she’s had her memories all along in my opinion), gave the book to MM either knowing she’d give it to Henry or encouraging her to give it to him. My only problem is why she left out Rumple. Maybe because she would have to admit that she apparently did nothing in all those hundreds of years to stop his curse or his quest (at least from what we’ve seen so far)

Perhabs she just didn’t own the rights too that one 😀
I say that in fun. But it could still hold some truth. She is powerfull, but maybe she is not more powerfull than the curse of The Dark One and that’s why she holds no power over Rumples story and how events will take place in his life.
Maybe she just didn’t want anyone reading the book to sympathise with Rumpel, like most of the audience did when they learned about his past. Seems like something she’d want, seeing as she’s his enemy.
I continue to believe that Snow wrote this book. She was preparing for this curse. She had been warned on her wedding day. She was told by Rumple her daughter would break the curse but how would snow explain all of this to her daughter as she (is supposed to) raise her in this strange land without magic. She wrote the book for Emma to read a she grew up and prepared to begin the ‘Final Battle’. But, alas, Emma went through the wardrobe ‘alone’ and I believe Snow somehow grabbed the book and kept it with her as the dark curse came over them and that’s why she had the book in Storybrook.
But I can’t wait for the day they choose to reveal this because I have given it a lot of thought and can’t wait to see what spin they give the author of our book!
