I keep reading on this forum that mr gold didnt have his memorys until Emma got to town.
I have obviously missed something.
I thought he did have his memorys. how else would he have known to get Henry for Regina when he was a baby??
and whist I am asking questions how did no one notice a 3 week old baby (Henry) turn into a 10yr old when no one else was aging??
can anyone answer for me?

secondly: I think it’s more of the fact that noone else noticed THEY weren’t againg rather than notice Henry was. Easily done, really, when you spend so much time with someone, even just yourself, you don’t notice the changes that happen to you – a wrinkle here or there, a few more kilos around the waist – you don’t really notice that. So I guess, in the same way the people of SB didn’t realize that they WEREN’T changing.Hello there! 😀
The producers came out and confirmed that Mr. Gold didn’t gain his memory until he heard Emma’s name in the pilot. That’s why he was so desperate to get Emma’s name fron Snow and Charming in the pilot. It was his way of ensuring that he would eventually regain his memory once she came to town.

When was this? I dont understand now. there is a point where Regina asks mr gold where he found Henry and he grins like he knew. do u remember that?

See, the thing about the first 3 or 4 episodes is that they’re terrible inconsistent. There are a lot of things from those episodes that have gone on to be debunked. So, any odd unexplained behavior from the first few episodes should probably be ignored. In the pilot episode, Snow said that the reason why the Evil Queen hated her was because she was pretty. Of course, in “Apple Red as Blood,” we learn that’s not true. The Evil Queen told Snow the specific reason why she hated her. Sigh…plot holes. Gotta love em. 😆
Personally, after seeing the role August has played in Emma’s life, I’m beginning to think that he had something to do with Henry’s adoption. Maybe he set it up.

Check out this video at the end of it you see exactly when Rumpelstiltskin got his memories back. As far as how he procured Henry that’s the big mystery. Pinocchio may have had a hand in it some how Henry got from a prison in Phoenix to the town of Storybrooke without Mr. Gold being able to leave the town. The thing to remember is also that Mr. Gold didn’t recognize Pinocchio so maybe it wasn’t a direct exchange between them? The only other thing we haven’t seen much of is if the Blue Fairy had her memories the whole time maybe she was colluding with Pinocchio or had some kind of contact with him. She mentioned final preparations at one point so those preparations could have ment finding out some way to keep her memories and maybe create the book.
