Emma’s power was unleashed in the episode when Emma deflected Cora with magic! Mr. Gold confirmed that Emma’s power is owing to the fact that she’s the product of true love, or put another way, she is true love incarnate, the most powerful magic of all. So, we’ve seen Emma’s ability several times. Emma created a separate hat for Jefferson in 1×17, which might have worked. When Emma decided to stay in SB, time started again, MM awakened David, and the mine shaft caved in when Emma put on her deputy badge. Emma recharged Jefferson’s hat just by touching it in 2×1 and broke the curse when she kissed Henry in 1×22. What else is Emma capable of now that she knows about her power? Is she a good wizard of sorts? Could she possibly break down the barrier between Storybrooke and the outside world? Is she more powerful than the Dark One’s magic?

I don’t know what she is capable of but she needs a mentor, someone to help her figure out exactly what is happening and how to control it.

But it doesn’t add up. If she is a product of true love, wouldn’t all of the kids of true loves have this power?

Yeah, you’d think so. Maybe all children born of true love have the potential for magic. It seems like all the Charmings come from true love though, so you’d think it runs in the family. Maybe it does, and we’ve only just scratched the surface. David’s parents had true love, as did Snow’s parents. Neal and Emma seemed to really love one another, so Henry is also the product of true love. Maybe what sets Emma apart is that Snow White drank the water of Lake Nostos, so that Emma somehow inherited the water’s magical properties in addition to being the product of true love.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Ruth’s ring was magical. Magic creating magic, and all that.

Snow and Charming’s true love potion is “Love Potion No. 9.” 😀 And as Rumple says True Love is the most powerful magic of all. I guess that makes Emma pretty powerful. I wonder if Henry has magic too?

Maybe she is the opposite of The Dark One like the Light One.

they had love for sure, but maybe it was simply not TRUE love, just because someone is not your one true love, does not mean that they can’t live a long life full of joy and children together. it does not appear that their respective parent had that kind of love…
