Hey, so I am in a great awe for the writers – this episode was awesome. It answered a lot of questions and left us with so many new ideas for the rest of the season! I mean – the story now has a completely new twist and really – a brand new plot 😉
Sooo… things how I see them:– so obviously after all these years Hook is still driven by one and only thing – to kill Rumplestiltskin. And he’s pretty particular about it – if you can’t help him (i.e. your name is Belle), then you are as useless as piece of dirt. But he still gets all the sexy looks flirts from both mother and daughter…
I can’t help a feeling that he’s hiding something. He saved Aurora’s hear and he practically let Emma beat him – I mean a girl with a sword only for the second time in her hands versus a 300 years worth of pirate fighting experience? He’s onto something!– I really like how the episode was sort of explaining one thing, so we THINK we know what’s going on now and then added a tiny detail and everything changes. I mean, we see Hook with Regina – (to the last second I was thinking it wasn’t really her, nothing was adding up in the way she spoke…), she makes a deal with him so that he will not let Cora come to SB – and immediately I think “Aha! So that’s what he’s doing in the present time! He pretends he’s an ally with Cora but really he’s helping Regina! Yes!” and then… Cora offers him exactly the same thing and he swtiches sides JUST.LIKE.THAT. Not that he has much choice but anyway – the plot turns around again.
– Rumple’s blur on Cora coming through – he spoke like he had no doubt Cora is going to bring havoc to the place and kill Henry – Rumple sounded like he really didn’t think they could stand a chance against her! What’s with the sudden change of attitude, Mr Gold? 5 minutes ago he was claiming that Cora is no threat to him and that he is stronger than her by any means and then all that talk? Hmpf.
– My heart broke for Regina. Multiple times. She even stood up to Rumple and said she didn’t want to help him and use magic. She was even WORRIED about Snow and Emma!!!! She’s really trying so so hard… And then she SAVED them. She really did it and Henry… well, he didn’t even run towards her when she fell on her knees afterwards. It was horrible. Very uncool kid! And Regina’s face when Emma and Henry got reunited. Heart break after a heart break. She just risked EVERYTHING so that he could have it his way, she really did what he asked for and he didn’t even ask if she was ok when she lifted the spell.
I was really happy when he did come back to her eventually in Rumple’s shop and properly said thank you and they hug but then… they go out to eat and… another heart break. WHY are you doing this to me??? And Mr Gold just HAD to dig this even more “you just reunited mother and son. Maybe one day they’ll even invite you to a dinner?” I’m sorry but this is just plain cruel.– Emma finally clicked she’s been a pawn and that Rumple is a master at mind games. I think it kinda scared her that this man could plan everything so carefully and patiently (for more than 28 years…).
– ok, why did exactly Gold need Regina again, someone explain to me please? He said he needed his and Regina’s power united to create enough magic (or something along these lines) but then he draws this fairy wand and gets the magical crystals and then casts a spell while Regina stands on the side doing nothing the entire time. So why did he really need her? He only destroyed her in Henry’s eyes. Mr Gold, what IS your plan?
– Aurora’s heart. So they didn’t keep it a secret for long, pity, this ‘tool’ had so much potential. Instead Cora gave them the answer on a plate. If she was really truly evil, she wouldn’t tell them the truth, she would let angry Snow and Emma take care of the girl…
Anyway, is it just me, or the whole Aurora and Mulan Quest doesn’t sound interesting and even though I feel it will obviously be connected to what Snow and the rest do in the future, I just don’t care about Prince Philip and the whole thing?– the ink. Throughout the entire episode I was shouting at the screen: “WHAT THE HELL, YOU HAVE THE INK ON THIS PIECE OF PAPER, WHAT ELSE ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?!”. I was really disappointed with how slow their minds worked, I know Emma was distracted with her new discovery on Rumple planning it all along but no one else noticed the fact! I mean, what else could Rumple use to write Emma’s name, huh? HUH?!
– Regina loves her mother. SAY WHAT?! This woman ripped out the hear you loved the most and practically destroyed your life and you sill LOVE her?! (which also makes me think – if she really loved her mother so dearly, couldn’t she cast the curse with her heart instead of her dad’s? would’ve spared one parent at least!) I really really can’t comprehend right now how twisted the Evil Queen’s mind is.
– they explained how a part of the land has been protected from the curse. Cool. At least they are being consistent.
– something REALLY REALLY bothered me. Snow said “When I was a little girl I used to sneak into Cora’s chamber and watch her practice magic.” WHAT? I mean CORA’S chamber? But Regina got rid of Cora even before her wedding! Has Cora been connected to Leopold and his kingdom before Regina saved Snow?
– “She had a spell book and, Emma, SPELLS WERE IN THE BOOK” – that cracked me up and Emma’s reaction to it too… 😆
– Cora couldn’t rip Emma’s heart out. Interesting. Does it then happen to ALL of the children of true love? WHY is Emma so so special among all of them?
– ‘your mom. she’s a… she’s a piece of work. You know?’ – what. the. hell. Emma. I don’t know where did that come from. Could she not just say ‘thank you’ or something, rather than just stating the obvious and putting it right in Regina’s face?
– whatever happened to the “you found me”-“I will always find you” line? they didn’t say it, so it doesn’t count!!!! 😆
– the bean!!!! The ship sailing to SB was SO COOL.
Ok, my mind is buzzing. What is Cora actually going to do? She thinks Regina still loves her (does she?) and needs her (does she?). Will she push Regina on the edge of plotting and dark magic again? Mr Gold seems to be really helping with that! Hook is finally going to face him too! fact, will anyone even have to fight Cora if Regina doesn’t want to hurt anyone? Or…. I get this feeling Regina looks SO HURY she will turn bad again?

Hook’s intentions have always been questionable, but I’m wondering why he even brought Cora along in the first place. They could have parted ways, and then him just used the bean for himself. Does he actually want Cora to come with him to Storybrooke? If so, then why?

The only thing I can think of is that he was saying all that to manipulate Regina in to helping him, which by the way, I really wanted to punch him in the freakin face after that!

I too, was incredibly happy when he finally hugged her. I think I might have been tearing up. And then they left and was like, “C’mon, Henry! Invite her! Invite her!” and then he turns to her and my hopes are dashed. “See you later.” Seriously? After all this woman has done for you!?!? Gosh, it makes me crazy. I do understand him wanting to spend some time with his family since they just got back, really I do, but the least he could have done is ask if she wanted to come with them. Come on, Henry. It’s not that hard.

Yeah, I didn’t actually catch that at first and I was racking my brain trying to figure out if Aurora stole the ink or something, but then it went to a commercial break and I was like “Oh. Duh. The scroll.” I felt really stupid after that…

Maybe this was referring to the few weeks in between Regina rescuing Snow and her marriage to Leopold?

Okay, yes it was cool, however, I have one important question. If Emma and Snow used the compass, how did Cora and Hook get there? I mean, they made such a big deal about having to have that compass, but then Cora and Hook just show up? Makes no sense.
I think this is because they needed the compass for the PORTAL, as sort of a way of telling the portal where they want to go rather than navigating themselves. Whereas when you are using a bean, it seems like it takes you where you want it anyway (before it was a land without magic for Bae then Neverland for Hook). The beans seem to be pretty special and way more powerful than just ordinary portals so maybe they don’t need any extra artifacts.

Ahhh…. I suppose that does make sense.
Oh, I just thought of another question. How did Emma and Snow and Mulan know to go to Lake Nostos? Because I don’t think Cora ever mentioned anything about it… just saying….
