This casting call info leaked a while ago for this episode

For episode 2.15, the guest role of Edith is being cast. She's 50, kind, and serves a wealthy family whose members think of her as one of their own, and to whom she's very loyal.

Sounds more like the role for Lesly Nicol, who was born in 1953, and seeing her picture I very much can see her exactly as that character.

Snow was fairly young when she lost her mother, so I guess her mother was more likely in her 30s or maybe 40s. Of course an actress can play a younger character sometimes, but in this case I'm rather sure, that Lesly Nicol is not it.
