Looking back on this episode, I realised that the dream catcher is a lot like the palantir from Lord of the Rings. Both objects can help you see what is going on somewhere else. But it gives you a false idea of what is actually going on. The palantir makes you see things the wrong way and get the wrong impression, and what Emma saw in the dream catcher was not really what happened since it was not Regina in Archie’s office.

The dreamcatcher did show Emma exactly what happened.

But it wasn’t like what she thought. What she sees is that Regina kills Archie, but it turns out that wasn’t true. It was not Regina.
In LOTR, when a character sees into the palantir they end up thinking that person has the ring which ends up being false.

It makes me think more in Dumbledore’s pensieve.
