Are you all familiar with the musical Wicked about the witches of Oz? I had songs from this show playing in my head throughout this episode. My dad joked about it too.. “Mary Margaret was heard singing ‘No Good Deed Goes Unpunished!” Then they also touched on a similar concept to the musical of what makes one perceived as wicked or evil. “Are we born wicked or do we have wickedness thrust upon us?”

again![adrotate group="5"]This is so weird – I was just thinking that! I just saw Wicked for the 4th time on Tuesday night. During the part where Elphaba was doing magic, I found myself thinking “I hope Rumple is okay.”
I love the juxtaposition of good and evil in Wicked and it looks like we are going in that direction on OUAT. I was also remembering what Eddy and Adam said at Paleyfest – that they don’t write characters as completely good or completely evil. Although I think Cora started out as good (or conflicted), I think she may have crossed the line at some point- in terms of not really doing any deeds that come from a good place. It’ll be interesting to see what we discover on Sunday. I am trying to keep an open mind about her! All I care about is that nothing happens to Rumple…although I think it would be cool to have him not be the Dark One any longer.
Next thing you know they’re all gonna be defying gravity. or dancing through life. or being popular. or loathing each other.

I am constantly comparing Regina’s story to Elphaba’s almost every time we get some of her back story. I even made a fanvid with No Good Deed! So yeah, I get what you’re saying. It seems like the writers use a lot of the same themes in Once Upon A Time that are present in Wicked, like how do you define evil and what makes a person the way they are.
Are they setting up for Mary Margaret becoming Glinda and Regina is Elphie? Henry the son of the witch(es)?
