Thank you Spinning Gold for taking my suggestion for a write-along and running with it. 🙂 But least some of you are scared off by the long paragraphs people are writing in that thread, here is a simpler version. For this one, the rule is one or two sentences at a time! To make things easy and funny, lets imagine a post curse Storybrooke in which everything has calmed down and people are just living normal (so to speak) lives- no one is trying to kill each other; no one is in immediate danger.
I’ll start:
Emma had been secretly excited to learn she had some magic of her own, but that morning in Mary Margaret’s apartment, she was starting to think it was a bad idea to test it out without an instructor.
[adrotate group="5"]As she pondered this idea, she poured herself some Fruit Loops and began making Henry some waffles. “Waffles again, Mom?’ Henry sounded disappointed so she wanted to do something to spice things up.
“Why don’t you make breakfast, Henry?” Emma said, hoping that her son would eagerly take on the challenge without burning the apartment down in the process.

Yes- I know. 🙂 I just thought people might be scared off from participating because of those writing long paragraphs! Also- the short sentence rule sometimes leads to a lot of humor.
You guys missed the part in my sentence that implied Emma had tried to use magic and something strange happened.. 😉
“Well I’m not Regina” replied Emma, a little more defensively than she intended. Ever since Henry had compared her to Regina in Manhattan, Emma had wanted to avoid as many similarities with Regina as possible. Breakfast was just the start. Emma blocked the poor victimised toaster from Henry’s view. He hadn’t seen it yet but she’d dicovered magic and toasters don’t mix.

Keeper of Felix“I’m sick of waffles” said Henry. “We’ve had waffles every day this week. I’ll just have toast.”
“No! You need something more nutritious. Like, um…” Emma looked around desperately, then leaned over to open the freezer. “Like ice cream! Have some ice cream.”
As she reached for the ice cream, Henry squeezed behind her. “Mom, why does the toaster have feet?”
“Hello. Are you my new master?” the toaster asked as it hopped up and down.

Emma sighed as she turned to her son who seemed entranced by the magical talking dancing toaster, “Henry, go call your grandfather.” Stuff like this was happening with increasing frequency.
