Is anyone else here as big a fan of Peter Pan’s world as I am?
Neverland has always held a special place in my heart- maybe it’s the whole childlike innocence of never growing up. Also, it was the Broadway version of Peter Pan that first made me fall in love with theater and acting- the idea of professional make believe. I saw the Mary Martin version on tv at age 8, and I would watch it over and over and mimic Wendy, my original dream role. That moment when Peter and the children fly to Neverland is one of the most joyful scenes to ever experience in live theater.

Have you ever read the Peter and the Starcatchers series? They are really clever Peter origin stories- highly recommended!
There is also this official Pan sequel:

It’s pretty good (the only weird thing about it is that Tootles becomes a girl, but is sometimes referenced by other characters as a boy — so that's messed up. 😆.
The SyFy movie that came on like two years ago was pretty good adaptation, taking on the origins of Peter Pan and Hook.

I was just about to recommend this! The adaptation, I thought, was spectacular. Really good animation. I think it’s still on Netflix if people are interested.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 6, 2013 at 8:24 pm #184733obisgirlParticipantyeah, it is still on Netflix.
and Finding Neverland (which is actually about J.M Berry and getting his inspiration for PP), and the actor who plays the kid who inspires him to make Pan, he’s really good. every time he cries, I cry too.
I have it on BluRay. 😀
April 6, 2013 at 8:29 pm #184735angiebelleParticipantOh yes- I really liked Finding Neverland, although it was quite sad at the end. I forgot about the SyFy movie! I need to see that- I missed it when it aired.
I think there is a book on Hook’s origin too that I never had the chance to read.

April 6, 2013 at 10:14 pm #184757RumplesGirlKeymasterI think a good project for this summer is to read all about Pan, NL and and Hook.

There’s just something about the scene when they are at the clock tower that just makes me choked up. The music. The “Here we goo!” The whistle “dee dee deeeee”(lol sorry )
It just creates this massive lump in my throat and I almost start bawling every time. The tears just flow. I’m not even the kind of person who does that often. I normally don’t cry during movies or TV shows. But as I have grown, (Disneys) Peter Pan and really anything about Walt’s life too(One Man’s Dream), just chokes me up. There’s just something inside of me that is really touched.Anyway, enough of the mushy gushy. Time to celebrate!
“Here we goooo!”
Keeper Nealfire's/Bae's scarf, Henry and Neal's bribery ice cream sundae, Baelfire's sword, the coconut map, and more.

Oh, I love that part too- just as I love the equivalent scene in the Broadway show! “You Can Fly” is definitely among my all time favorite Disney songs. So full of hope and excitement!
If you are a fan of Walt Disney, you need to check out the Walt Disney Family Museum if you are ever in San Fransisco- it’s awe inspiring. You leave with a real sense of the legacy that Walt left.
