This may be a stretch, but it’s a connection, nonetheless.

The writers stressed the fact that her name – Tamara – was pronounced ‘tomorrow’.
The song “Tomorrow” was made famous by the musical “Little Orphan Annie”.
I don’t think Tamara is Orphan Annie, rather, it’s a nod to orphans and/or the orphanage.
Little Orphan Annie was based on a real girl who became an orphan when her grandmother, who raised her, became too ill to care for her.
August and Emma were in the orphanage.
Possibly, Greg and Tamara were in the same orphanage.

In the 1930’s, Quaker Oats sponsored the “Little Orphan Annie” radio show.
In order to promote their (then) new cereal, they introduced a new character to the show- Captain Sparks (taser?).
Quaker Oats Co. (warehouse and distribution center) is in Carlisle, PA.

The other song made famous by the musical was “Hardknocks Life”.
In that song, they mention the Chrysler Building (which is in NY).
The Chrysler Building is also featured in many Marvel Comic Books, including the “Avengers”one that was in Henry’s backpack in the S1 finale.

Another interesting thing – “Little Orphan Annie” comic strip was featured in the UK newspaper “The Daily Mirror”.
    Possible Sydney connection?

Greg went to live with his Uncle.August would have recognized Tamara and I think Emma would have too if they came from the same orphanage.

True, August may have recognized Tamara if she was in the same orphanage, or maybe he wouldn’t have. Look how different August looked as a child as opposed to an adult.
As far as Greg, his father told him to contact his uncle.
That doesn’t mean his uncle took him in.
Or, Greg’s uncle could have been Mr. Raskind.
Emma said she had a family til she was 3.
If she was adopted as an infant, I don’t think she would recognize anyone from the orphanage.

It’s amused me how much confusion there’s been over the pronunciation of “Tamara”, because the way they say it on the show is the only way I’ve ever heard it said, and I’ve never thought it sounded like “tomorrow”. *shrug*

Regargless of how the actors actually say it, K&H said it is supposed to be pronounced ‘tomorrow’.

Are you sure they didn’t mean that Tamara sounds like a certain pronunciation of “tomorrow”, not that Tamara is actually pronounced “tomorrow”? Tamara does sound like a certain way of saying tomorrow, but not the typical pronunciation of it “with the “oh” sound at the end, I highly doubt we’re supposed to believe Tamara’s name ends with an “oh” sound.

I’m not the one who said it, the writers are.
They said in an interview that Tamara’s name in pronounced ‘tomorrow’ and they used the word ‘tomorrow’

Jane Espenson stated it was to be pronounced as tomorrow. This was on a live Barbara Barnett radio blog.

    Thanks TGK 🙂
I couldn’t, for the life of me, remember where I actually heard that, but I knew I heard it….it stuck out in my brain 🙂
