The last two episodes of “Once Upon a Time” are almost here and fans are excited to find out what is in store for episodes 21 and 22. According to Wet Paint on May 1, there will be some characters returning. Find out who is coming back and more importantly, the theories on why.
Warning: If you do not want to know “Once Upon a Time” theories or spoilers for episodes 21 and 22, then stop reading.
Co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis recently confirmed that Mulan, Aurora and Philip will be returning for the last two episodes of season two. But why are they returning?
One theory is that Mulan and Aurora will return to Storybrooke to get information from Cora or other magical characters. The last time they appeared on the show, they were trying to rescue Philip’s soul.
It is rumored that it might be the other way around, with Storybrooke needing their help. Mulan and Aurora had somewhat of an alliance earlier in season 2. Will they help Storybrooke because of Emma and Mary Margaret’s alliance with them?
Fans already know that the characters are going to end up in Neverland and that it isn’t going to be the nice fairy tale version. Will the trio end up there as well?
Mulan, Aurora and Philip could meet up with other residents from Storybrooke. It is already known that the threesome are hanging out in the Enchanted Forest. Could it be that not all of the inhabitants of Storybrooke will end up in Neverland? This could be possible since there were pictures posted on the web of Neal with the trio.

I don’t remember which interview it was, it might’ve been in the podcast, but Adam and Eddy said there are only 3 beans left. We know GOAT uses one to kidnap Henry, that leaves one for the gang on Hook’s ship and one for Neal (for whatever reason). I have NO IDEA why he would leave without anyone else, the only thing that makes sense as of now is he tries going after Henry (we don’t know where GOAT and Henry end up, they might be where Mulan and Aurora are), OR he goes unwillingly.
I don’t think the gang sends him over to recruit Mulan and Aurora though lol, if they wanted to do that it would make more sense to send someone they know – like Emma or Snow.
I’m really not liking the idea of Neal losing his soul and going where Prince Phillip is and all that, although if Mulan and Aurora are there then they must be saving the guys.
Besides the Granny theory that’s the only “death” that makes sense though 🙁
