ParticipantWhat is so special about Happy’s axe in particular?
Greg looks along the wall with the axes until he finds Happy’s and then when he is explaining how to enact the failsafe he says “And this axe, according to our people, is what activates it.” He really emphasizes the words “this axe” and he could have grabbed the nearest pickaxe on the wall but he didn’t, he looked until he found Happy’s.
What is so special about “this axe” and how do his people know about it? Is there something special about Happy that we just don’t know as of yet?
Are there any connections anyone can think of based on Snow White? It was never one of my favorites, but I know Disney was the one who gave them the names that we know about so I would think if it related specifically to Happy it would have to be from that movie pretty much.
First Stealthy, then Dreamy becoming Grumpy, Doc being told he only got his degree from a pickaxe, Sneezy losing his memories, and now Happy’s axe is being used to try to kill everyone?? My poor dwarfs!

KeymasterIf anything I thought it would have been Grumpy’s or Doc’s. They’re the two most important dwarfs in Snow White, the reluctant best friend and the leader.
I still want to know how GOAT know anything. The fact that they’re working for PP is mind boggling but how is HE getting information to them? They must have an insider.
Also, Kat: You posted this in the spoiler section last night, so I moved it to the actual discussion thread of ASOTM section.

ParticipantI find it an ironic joke on the writer’s parts and nothing more. Not only is it a contrast between certain doom for the town and “Happy” as a concept, but of all the dwarfs, Happy has never seemed like the sharpest tool in the shed.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

ParticipantWhat if Greg chose Happy’s axe because destroying Stroybrooke could be considered GOAT’s “happy” ending?
I also wonder what names the axe would give GOAT since it gives names based on personality traits e.g Happy, Grumpy, Dopey, etc.
Perhaps this:
Tamara: Manipulative
Greg: GullibleAll magic comes with a price!

Thanks RG. I’m so used to being there and was so tired it didn’t even occur to me!
I agree, you would think it would have been Grumpy’s (he is the only one we’ve truly gotten backstory on and he’s the leader / Snowing’s right-hand man. It was very interesting watching that scene when Greg was so intent on going down the line til he found that axe and then he emphasized it again which I thought was weird.
I can’t for the life of me think of anything that would indicate Happy’s axe being the most important to use for it other than destroying their happiness / giving GOAT theirs on behalf of the person they apparently don’t know who is pulling the strings. GOAT are just blind followers apparently. Wonder how much they actually know (and really wish those files hadn’t been burned!)

KeymasterWell, for what it is worth, I sent the question off to Estelle for the podcast. Hopefully they’ll tell us.
