Charming Hook 101.

This behind the scenes pic Jennifer shot during the filming of Straight On ‘Til Morning. That’s Josh on the left, and Colin on the right outside of Granny’s. Yup, that’s definitely not Ginny on the right. That’s Colin.

Let’s face it. It’s not like Charming has many guy friends he can hang out with. (Maybe, if you count Gold. David almost had a scene with Archie in season one’s ‘Skin Deep’ but that was never shown in the episode).
Somehow, I think their guyfriend dynamic would be interesting to watch. In the middle of them becoming friends, Gold would get jealous of Charming’s relationship with Hook and then we would get a weird bromance love triangle going on. Nothing slashy. Just a weird bromance love triangle.
Then, there’s the epic Charming Hook fanvids so far. Not many. But there will be more.

[adrotate group="5"]Well, Hook already has a history of hanging with Rumple’s friends/family. He is the one person on the show who actually had a relationship of any sort with all three of Rumple’s loves–took the guy’s wife, teamed up with Cora, and threatened Belle quite a lot. Even Bae barely met Cora and hasn’t technically met Belle yet.
And he tried to adopt Rumple’s son. And he’s teamed up with Regina quite a bit (and she’s got her own complex relationship with Rumple…).
So it makes perfect sense for him to swoop in on Rumple’s closest guy frenemy, doesn’t it? (Rumple’s been more honest and open to Charming than anyone besides Belle. Like, ever. Even if Charming goes back and forth on whether to trust/lock up Rumple. I think Emma’s the only other person who has seen him in such vulnerable moments or that he would go to for genuine help.)

I do love that first pic of Charming and Hook.
I think is going to prove himself invaluable in S3. I think he and Rumple have a very uneasy alliance/truce (that may or may not hold) but that for the moment is holding. I can easily see Charming and Hook becoming “friends.” They both have that dashing romantic hero-ness about them. It strikes me that Hook is a mix of Rumple AND Charming. Like I said the romantic hero of Charming but the cunning out-for-himself-ness of Rumple. I finally started to warm up to Hook as a character in the season finale, so I hope that continues.

I’m feeling a bit of Charming Hook, I won’t lie. Maybe I’m starting to ship it casually… But more as a brotp than anything else? But being the Captain Swan shipper I am, I’m envisioning more Hook/Charming banter with that kind of dynamic, haha.
