I’m re-watching reason 1 and I’ve got a question.
I’m on episode 4 and Regina has just revealed to Emma that she knows Emma has had seven addresses in the past ten years and that the longest was two years in Tallahassee. Would that have been two years after she got out of prison? And if so was it ever mentioned that she went there in hopes that Neal was waiting for her there?

I think so – it makes sense that Emma went there after getting out of prison. It was never mentioned that she went there hoping that Neal would be there – but I think we can all safely assume that it was that way.

Emma: I was eighteen.
Ashley: When… When you had a kid?
Emma: Yeah. I know what it’s like. Everyone loves to tell you what you can and can’t do, especially with a kid. But ultimately, whatever you’re considering doing or giving up, the choice is yours.
Who was telling Emma to give up her baby? Was she thinking about keeping Henry? Did she go to Tallahassee to find Neal and tell him about Henry?

Oh, nice! I’ve watched that episode only once (I got stoked about OUAT only around the time “A Land Without Magic” aired) and it’s been so long I did not remember that. It does seem like a mysterious someone pushed Emma to give up Henry for adoption, doesn’t it?

Well that sounds like an idea for a great way to fill the Once void until Season 3: a Season 1 re-watch!

May 18, 2013 at 3:05 pm #195272RumplesGirlKeymasterWith the idea floating around the THO had something to do with Henry’s adoption, if Emma was pressured to give up Henry, I’d bet THO sent an “agent” to convince her.

I think that the state of Arizona and would have pressured Emma to give the baby up for adoption. Emma was still technically a ward of the state herself when she was pregnant and imprisoned. She might have become a legal adult by the time Henry was born (that timeline is still ambiguous in my mind), but she suddenly had to face a cruel reality that she had no income and no way of looking after a newborn baby. So, at the encouragement of her parol officer (or someone else), Emma probably chose what she thought was best for her son. However, that doesn’t preclude the possibility that an agent of the Home Office also could have been working for the judicial system of AZ. THO sounds like a large network of people who could be everywhere.

I believe Emma could be easily persuaded to give up baby Henry, but I have to wonder if she did hesitate, just for awhile before THO stepped in, maybe in the guise of the AZ judicial system."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love" -
