Not quite sure what to say but I guess introductions are customary. My husband and I stumbled on OUaT about ten minutes into The Crocodile while over at his grandparent’s for our weekly visit. We don’t have a tv of our own and I afraid that since then our Sunday evening visits have been more about ‘watching our show’ than about visiting – though our two-year-old loves to get to hang out with her Nanny and Papow, and they return the love.

I can’t remember when I started reading in the forums, but it’s been a few months – mostly just the forums dedicated to the upcoming episode. This is my first time hanging out in the general forums but now that there’s no new episodes for a while…

Let’s see, what else about me…

my deepest hunger is for excellent stories well told, and to be involved with the creation of them. I love Tolkien, Harry Potter, Doctor Who (I grew up on the old series, Tom Baker is of course my favorite and my favorite companions are Romana2 and Ace – I haven’t had the nerve to watch the new series though since I know they’ve changed the tone), Star Trek (Original, Next Generation and DS9 – never got into Voyager and I don’t count Enterprise as Star Trek at all… Of course I love Princess Bride and enjoy Monty Python, as well as some classic plays. I’m actually not very fussy about genre (though I don’t enjoy even the best horror movies), which makes it hard for people to recommend stuff to me because I’m very fussy about the quality of the story, and the story-telling. One of my really quirky rules is that I never watch the movie of a book I love. That way I don’t offend anyone who loves the movie when I complain about how they got it wrong (I got SOUNDLY mocked in college when I ranted about Fellowship of the Ring and accidentally referred to ‘in real life,’ when of course I meant in the book). Maybe someday there will be an exception where the screenwriter actually knows how to translate between the media (Princess Bride was one – but that’s because William Goldman is actually a much better screenwriter than he is a novelist – though the novel wasn’t terrible though I thought the snarky side comments got old after a while), but every time someone tells me ‘this one’s actually really great’ I’m deeply disappointed.

I’ve been cast in two projects this summer – a horror short film and a web ‘tv’ series. Neither are exceptional but it should be fun. I’ve got a short script I’ve written that I’m planning to filming sometime next year, assuming I can get a decent cast (not too far from Atlanta, which does have something of a talent pool to draw from…)

In my other life, I’m a stay-at-home mom of one with another on the way, a redneck wife, and top dog/cat/chicken to four dogs, six cats and 20 chickens. And sometimes I wish there was a ‘nerd table’ for this former home-schooler to sit down at and make friends. I guess that’s what the internet’s for, huh?
