ParticipantUnless they use the Jolly Roger as a base for their operations in Neverland, it seems to me really unlikely that Operation Save Henry is going to spend more than a few minutes on board the ship, at least, diagetically speaking. A, it’s the fastest ship in the realms, B, they took a portal directly to NL, with a device that shows the precise location of their target and a captain who knows his way around NL, and C, they’re on a mission, not a cruise.
And yet, mentally, for all of us fans waiting the entire bloody summer hiatus, they’re going to be on that boat together for MONTHS. And so all our fan thoughts about what’s happening right now (which is like two minutes, in all likelyhood, from the finale to the premiere) are fascinating interactions on this long boat ride with people who have been mortal enemies, in some cases for centuries, on a tiny ship.

ParticipantI think it would be unrealistic if the JR took them to Henry’s exact location in Neverland. I think the map only showed where Gregmara were going, which was Neverland.
I will be disappointed if the Charmings’ don’t spend a lot of time searching for Henry and boom, as soon as they’re off the boat, they know exactly where to go.

KeymasterAnyone else remember the Neverland adjacent spoiler? That would suggest that they won’t be in NL exactly.

ParticipantI think we’ll have a scene of them on the boat, maybe something to imply they’ve been on it awhile scouting, but I don’t know if we’ll get them “trapped on a boat” for very long–they like to have different settings/scenes, and more space for action. It’s true though to us fans it will seem like months.

ParticipantI thought about this too when I saw all the fanfiction pouring in for their longggg boat trip which will actually be very short indeed since the portal should take them immediately to NL. That being said, the ship should be their base of operations for sure because it’s their way home and their one safe haven in the area. Especially if they end up breaking off into groups they’ll need a place to reconvene.
I agree that the portal won’t take them immediately to Henry’s location so they’ll be there for goodness knows how long, even if it is just a place to go strategize / sleep. Then there’s the potential of the “can’t set foot on land” thing coming back into play that could cause some problems too. They also might have to sail around the island a bit to get to the right spot etc. I don’t think they’ll be on the ship for the months that some are envisioning, but we’ll be seeing them on the ship for multiple episodes at least in part (though far less time will have passed for them than for us – it’ll seem like forever but it won’t be).
If you go with just the normal directions to NL (along with the titles of the last 2 episodes of season 2) then the directions basically say you’ll get there by morning. Since they took the bean portal, they should get there even faster. It’s fun to dream / find ways of getting through the hiatus, but it’s not super realistic that they’ll be stuck on the ship for very long unless they really can’t set foot on land, in which case I hope they find a way to fly.
Wasn't there some interview somewhere that Lana and the others talked about flying? Sounded like they were hoping it would happen at some point but not necessarily that they actually knew anything but I saw it the other day and it backed up this theory which I posted some time ago elsewhere.

ParticipantI hope the writers somehow find a loophole around the ‘never leaving’ Neverland if you step foot on soil.
I mean, they have Regina and Rumpelstiltskin with him and they can’t cook anything up? It would be ridiculous that they would have to constantly search by boat. Granted, it would make their stay in Neverland longer but at some point, eventually, that will stop working and they have to leave the JR.

In the movie Peter Pan, Peter gets them out of there by enchanting the ship with Pixie Dust. We don’t yet know what OUAT will do with the ship and as of yet, it’s not enchanted to fly.
As for the lost ones they left the island but they didn’t leave NL. I was under the impression that Wendy’s remarks were about leaving NL and not just the island itself, but rather the whole realm. I’m very interested in seeing how Bae and Hook got out of there eventually and whether those rules still apply in NL today. They might since the shadow thing seems to still be in charge but we won’t know more until S3 starts.

SpectatorWell once again only one witness Wendy for NL, and Moriane for the BF so who do you believe ❓

I agree, but that’s an ongoing confusion, likely fueled by Bae’s rejection to be taken to the island in “Second Star to the Right”.
