I think he wants his power right now but that is because he doesn’t know Belle is alive. I think if we look at the jail scene in Skin Deep, to me, it becomes clear that he’ll give up his power for Belle. If we take the myth of Rumple (the actual Grimm fairy tale) as canon, his name is his power. Guess his name and his power is gone. He tells Regina his name (gives up his power) for a symbolic representation of Belle (the cup): and we know that Belle means more to him than anything, he literally placed her on pedestal in FTL. It’s my opinion that this scene might be foreshadowing some sort of second show down between the Queen and Rumple, except this time is would be his actual magical power and the real live Belle.
